Soldier of Fortune 2. Probably because of the time I played it, since it felt more visceral and real than things like Mortal Kombat (which was so cartoony it was closer to comedy).

it really depends which fiction you consider. Werewolfs have the downside of being mindless during the transformation, so you can't control or remember things afterwards. Vampires can be so full of weaknesses its not even funny...

Werewolfs are cooler, though.

In my opinion, yes... it is.

There are too little games that are not available on the previous generation, or even of PC. Until there are more exclusive games, like Bloodborne, you might end up with your console gathering dust...

@cheesebob: The movie was a remake of "Abre tus ojos", and the ending is pretty much the same... except the protagonist on that one doesn't survive the fall, because Hollywood.

Of course.

The ending of Sixth Sense changed that movie from a decent flick to the massive popular culture touchstone it was at that time.

On the other hand, the endings of Signals and The Village were terribly lackluster. I liked the tension of the movies until that point, but the ending totally deflated it...

@soundlug: Not to a specific one... but the main issue its long development is attributed to is its mercurial director continuously demanding to scrap years-worth of work, several times, because he wanted it to use the latest technology available.

Perhaps I am being overly cynical, but having a highly anticipated game last seen more than a year ago in a Sony E3 conference being completely silent and having no news besides "we have nothing new to show, but we would like to assure you we are working on it" gives me bad memories.

That is not really good news for the game. The last story I remember of a game changing engines within development was Duke Nukem, and they are rarely associated with quality products.

I guess it is good news that we got any news about the progress of develompent, but not such good news that those are "we had to scrap a lot of work and go back a few spaces, but we are making progress..."

@believer258: Better than last year.

The Last of Us and Bioshock Infinite were two of the best games of the last generation so 2013 wasn't all bad.

I'm not saying 2013 was bad. But if you're only looking at blockbuster games 2014 is already better. Last of Us was Amazing, Bioshock was pretty good, and GTA was meh. This year has already had Dark Souls II which was pretty good, South Park which was great, and Shadow of Mordor which was great.

I am going to disagree there... 2013 had many great games before the halfway point, while 2014 drought period make it look like nothing big came out in months. I had my "Top 10 of 2013" list locked down by September (even leaving out games like TLOU, GTA 5 or Black Flag), while this time I would be hard pressed to make the list longer than 5 items...
