Their stumbles with this sequel makes EA's failure to get any Star Wars games that are not shooters shipped, well over three years into their deal, all the more concerning. Battlefront II being a letdown wouldn't matter as much if they'd also shipped any combination of a spiritual successor to Jedi Knight, a dedicated space combat game, an RPG or a strategy game, but when your two at bats were easy pitches like "make more Battlefront" (as people had wanted for many years) and you still don't have anything which could be reasonably described as better than simply a "qualified success" to show for it (and arguably that's charitable)...There's a problem.
Well...I like that the ball is Morty. Whether that’s enough to overcome how bad a taste Cliff’s intereviews “promoting” this game at E3 left in my mouth remains to be seen.
I have several questions. What the hell is a power player? How does one attain the rank of power player? What, if anything, distinguishes a power player from a more experienced regular player? Do power players make deals on the stock and/or real estate markets? Is that another system within the game? Why does this guy keep saying power player and what do we have to do to make him stop?
I feel like a power player is a pretty common term for the super serious players who play/do everything at a maximum efficiency. Someone who looks up guides on how to do everything the best and fastest and most efficient way possible. Its a similar usage of the term power user but applying to games instead.
I'm not sure what other term is often used to describe that type of super serious player in video games though. Power users/players is a pretty common term in computers. I believe power gamer is often used as well.
Power USER is certainly a common term in software. Power PLAYER is definitely not anything like as common in gaming - especially the way he was using it, as evidenced by how much it has stuck out to people. But that's not really the issue anyway. A term being in common usage doesn't preclude it from sounding empty & obnoxious. "Influencer" is a common term for a new media celebrity, doesn't make non-ironic use of the term any less cringe-inducing for many people, especially when it's repeated quite a bit in a relatively short time span.
