@kindgineer: Companies prefer profitable to interesting.

...I don't think that was the point of this thread? Why does everyone point this out? He was asking if we would support it - and I would. I don't care if it's profitable. Be a special charity thing where they release it in limited quantities. I don't know.

I mean the question is not "would it be financially viable" right? You're asking would you like new games on older systems and I'm totally into that.

This. I think a lot of people are thinking way too hard about it. I think it would be a cool side-project for some companies to take a shot at. It would be something akin to an NES classic being released. Nothing serious, just a little "fan-service" to make a specific year (or years) interesting.

But why do that on an older console? A console most people don't have? Why not support your new console where you can put out the exact same game you would've developed on that old system but make it better? Even leaving out the fact that they can make it a much better game, and the fact that it isn't financially viable; then still why not release it on your new system so people can actually play it?

I get what you're saying; but, at least to me, there would be something endearing, or special, about Nintendo/SEGA/Sony releasing a new game on an old console. Who is to say they couldn't release that game later on a newer console but just reserve a little while to make a little of the headlines creating a game for a dead system?

Everyone is thinking way to hard on this topic. I swear.

My Mom is graciously (not sarcastic) letting my wife and I stay on her plan and not having to pay. It's a pretty expensive (like ~$390/mo) because she has the wife and I, herself, her husband, and my little sister on there. It's unlimited + like 30gb (?). I'm hoping to become financially stable enough soon and just get a small plan for us to take some weight off her. Once our phones become "unlocked" from verizon's commitment I'll be doing that.

Probably something like Strikers 1942+, or Metal Slug 3/X. If I had more room, def. one of the four player cabinets (TMNT, Gauntlet: Dark Legacy, or X-Men).

I can pretty much enjoy whatever. However, there are certain themes that generally wear on me over time and make it difficult to continue.

1) Games with an emotional message: It's hard to represent something if the person who is (playing) the game has never had to overcome or defeat said subject in the game. It ends up just making me sad, or depressed, and I don't think that is the intended feeling they were shooting for. Not to mention it's just not enjoyable (for me).

2) Over complicated or difficult games: Stuff like Super Mario World hacks, or aggressively difficult platformers. I play games to enjoy them, but there are far too many out there that shroud the solution to a puzzle for the sake of difficulty. I'm all for a feeling of accomplishment, but by the time I've knocked my head against the wall however many number of times, all I feel is the sweet release of never having to do it again.

3) Visual Novels: This ones pretty easy, and sort of plays off "Games with an emotional message." They tend to be very hard to take seriously, and are filled with interesting perspectives at times, but generally bog it all down with filler or embarrassing segments that make me want to hide what I'm actually doing.

* I just want to point out that these are my opinions. I feel like I have to do this now after every post just so people realize I'm not calling out specific genres as "bad." They just do nothing for me, or tend to have elements that either put me off, or drag down my experience.

ChristopherOdd -- Currently playing through Resident EVII: Biohazard. He does a lot of "immersive" story playthroughs and horror games. I like his mellow approach to everything, but not afraid to show his (real) interest or fear in something.
GrandPooBear -- Saw him at AGDQ2016 speed running DRAM World (Super Mario World Hack) and instantly subbed to his channel. Has a fun personality and skill to match.
Northernlion -- Reminds me a lot of the personality of Jeff. Rather jaded on a lot of things, very pop-culture influenced, and on point.
JesseCox -- Not really sure what his future is now that he has "left" his parent-group to do his own thing. He is a former voice-artist that does some pretty funny play-throughs of various games.
TotalBiscuit/Halibut -- I think we all know who he is at this point. A very cynical, but intelligent, reviewer/criticizer that happens to host a really great SC2 tournament series. He also does in-depth "look-ats" of different titles and typically has a lot to say about the industry.
Cinemassacre -- Angry Video Game Nerd. Need I say more? (Although his latest venture into reviewing classic movie titles has been a treat)
GiantBomb -- a channel about a website that's about video games?
DidYouKnowGaming -- Weekly videos that breakdown the history and/or secrets of a certain game, genre, or saga.
ThatOneVideoGamer -- A guy who has dedicated himself to 100% completing every game he challenges himself to. He also does a video breakdown of his adventure. Great stuff.
Baertaffy -- A really fun guy that digs indie games and rogue-likes. Great personality, chat involvement, and just overall fun to watch.
GameSack -- A typical review-like show that has two dudes with dry humor who break down themes for games and is generally fun to watch. It's generally informative, but sometimes it's also a great way for the guys to rant.

So... do you dislike the emphasis of 1080p/60fps or do you dislike the people that emphasize 1080p/60fps. I got waaaay more of the latter from your OP. There is absolutely nothing wrong with a consumer expecting a company to prioritize the quality of their product. It's part of technology and it's evolution. If we just say around enjoying "whatever," then what is the point of it all? I can playTitanfall 2, Shantae: 1/2 Genie Hero, or even World of Warcraft at 30fps, but why should I if I can at 60?

Maybe, just maybe, instead of being angry that people have higher expectations than you, just enjoy what you enjoy. Who cares what your neighbor likes or dislikes? Why does it matter that he passed up on the Witcher 3 due to his own qualifications? He has that right, and while anything is up for criticism, there are certain levels of it that can seem a bit, obsessive?

Frame-rate has been a factor in my purchases in that past for many games, and I don't see why you think that I should have to question my own perspective because you don't see it the same way.

I enjoy Android over an iPhone simply due to the amount of tinkering I can do to the phone without having to break the entire OS. Other than that, there really isn't much more to it. If you are cool with just having a smooth experience - go with the iPhone. If you see yourself wanting to mess around with emulation, customization of your phones design, or other forms of tinkering - go with the Android.
