This whole project has been such a hot mess. This was a great summary of the whole thing!
An extra thing I think it could be worth mentioning is that part of the controversy around the community manager came from the fact that she said she hadn`t played Mega man before (or maybe that she wasn`t a fan, I don`t remember exatcly) and that she got the job because her boyfriend was on the team. That whole thing was such a complicated mess all in itself.
Good review Austin! I was kinda shocked how similar to Far Cry this turned out.
Also on a side note. It`s kinda weird (ironic?) that one of the weapons shoot red, white and blue fireworks considering the North Korean flag is also made up of those colors.
it's very funny to me that there is a guy in the comment section of this video who has been arguing for 4 continuous hours that this game should have white people in it
I think the argument is more that neither the witcher nor this game need changing in any way, just some people are a little salty about singling out a game and developer for what is a societal/ industry wide problem. The complication is that no game is inherently better or worse because of diversity yet we do have an overall problem with a lack of balance. So is it fair to criticize a specific team of people because they happen to fall on the wrong side of the scale (while making a game exclusively about their culture and or race)?
It is a bit random to bring it up in this QL and i don't agree with everything he says but there is more to the point of view than a crazy person whining about how white people should be in this game.
I was going to write something, but this pretty much sums up what I wanted to say in a much more intelligent way than I would have.
This probably should be discussed in a forum topic instead though.
For me Apotheon is one of those prime examples of a 3 star game. I enjoyed my time with it and then quickly forgot about it afterwards. I do think it`s worth playing through though, if only to enjoy all the art. The gameplay does also get better later on as Duluoz said (with the exeption of a couple of really bad parts, I`m looking at you Poseidon ).
Really enjoying the Go go goty series so far by the way. Keep it up!
