The Wild Arms music at the start was VERY nostalgic to me.

I personally don't find the vlog format interesting, but people seem to like it so that's good. Btw I would not be able to stand the racket in that expo for more than 5 minutes, so all the respect for you actually trying to get work done in that environment.

I honestly prefer these silly videos rather than badly written stories like the Injustice games or Tekken 7 for that matter.

While the reactions are funny I would have liked them to see the intros since they give at least some context to the endings.

Couldn't disagree more about Strangers of Paradises' combat. It's not Bayonetta or DMC5 but I enjoyed my time with the fighting immensely. The bosses especially are better designed (gameplay-wise) than any of the bosses in Elden Ring. Granted, ER is better in every other aspect but IF you're into Nioh's combat you will probably have a good time. The game has multiple tutorials and I never felt like I was missing something.

The NPCs actually DO give HEAVY hints about late-game twists but you can just as well skip them. The most interesting aspect of the story were already spoiled in the trailers (like they straight-up tell you) which is a shame. There are some interesting ingredients but the story telling makes the game feel 20 years older than it is.

I think the game's biggest issue is the level design. Leveling up jobs is fun but I really don't feel like replaying those levels. I still got 30 hours of solid fun out of it.

MGSV has around 5 hours of cutscenes (plus a couple of hours of tapes you can listen to during gameplay). Considering how long that game is that's pretty decent.

A big difference with Uncharted cutscenes is that they are generally more numerous but shorter than in MGS, so you don't have to spend an entire game session looking at a single cutscene.

WRT small, fun RPG franchises, I really enjoyed the Atelier Ayesha and Atelier Eschatology games (I would avoid the rest though since they started going from 'cute' to creepy imho). They're basically really chill RPGs with light time management mechanics, where you farm and hunt enemies and use a fun puzzle-like minigame to create bombs and other weapons. You can design some wild, OP stuff and I got some real joy from spending hours crafting stuff and then trample all over any boss that would get in my way. The music is absolutely fantastic in Ayesha as well.

FF: Lightning Returns is a fem in the rough. You have control over Lightning even during fights, can dodge, do counter and stun enemies by hitting certain parts or performing counters. It's semi-open world and has a time mechanic. Only main issues is that the story is mostly nonsense (like, the most nonsense of any FF game) and the opening missions are really bad and they probably lost 30% of the players right at the start. No shame in looking up where you need to go because some of the missions are Elden Ring - levels of obtuse.

There's a special place in hell for people who talk at the theatre, or look at their phones.

Now that I think about it, the Peacemaker show was very close to what a Duke Nuke'em movie/show could be.

It's amazing how well the CG cutscenes still hold up.

Real talk: this movie and its sequels are unwatchable garbage. Every time they pop up on TV or whatever I'm amazed how terrible and unfunny, dull, not to mention creepy they are. My pet peeve is the overwrought music that tries SO HARD to convince the viewer this turd is actually a good time. The gross 'family values' that are straight from the 1930s are just the shit cherry on the shit sundae.
