@400lb_gorilla: I agree. After reading what the issue was, I don’t think it’s fair to place him in the same group as those other guys.

They are not saying he's equally as bad. It's quite clear they are not saying he's not equally as bad.
He has, however, if the accusations are to be believed, shown signs of very toxic behavior towards multiple women he's been in relationships with.

It's a bit frightening that people seemingly are willing to minimize how serious emotional abuse is just because it's not considered as bad as physical abuse and assault.

Here's a well made thread about what emotional abuse can involve, the effects it can have and why it's so important to talk about in relation to what people commonly call more serious types of abuse.

I highly recommend everyone reads it through.

From where I stand, based on the public allegations, I find that at least five of those categories fit the description of the case regarding Matt Pascual.

And if additional sources, both public and anonymous, are to be believed, it's not just about a one time thing, not just this one ex that has gained the most attention for these allegations.

It appears to be something that has happened multiple times, i.e. it's a pattern.

It of course still remains to be seen if these allegations are true or not. But as of now, I will stand on the side of the accusers in this matter.

@ybbaaabby For future reference, there's a fullscreen toggle in the settings menu, in case you don't want to bother with windowed mode and cropping the source in OBS.

Could anyone give timestamps for TLOU2 talk? Haven't had the chance to get very far in it myself yet and would like to avoid it.

It kicks off at 49:37 in the premium version.

It's great to know that you're willing to take on these heavy and personal topics head-on. I understand that it's not an easy task, but it's obviously too important to not talk about in the most open way possible.

I think allegations that affected me the most out of the ones mentioned is Matt Pascual. He's not just been associated with Giant Bomb through some content, but also been heavily involved with the community at large. But no matter all the good things he's done for the Giant Bomb community and community projects that has affected so many people's lives, the things he's been accused of are totally unacceptable.

Very professional approach to this stuff by Giant Bomb. It does feel that they’re avoiding using the words “we didn’t know” and instead the procedure is “apologize for everything” and “we should’ve known better” but obviously the GB staff couldn’t have. I kinda understand why GB are taking this approach but also, it just sticks out a bit as unnecessary and a little strange.

I’m in support of this movement but as far as Matt Pascual goes; again, as the crew mentioned, we don’t know the whole story, but where is the line between sexual abuse and just being a crappy partner at times? Cheating in a relationship is not cool but not worth a guy being thrown under the bus.

From what I understand it's not just that he cheated. It's also, and imo the most horrible aspect of it, that he emotionally abused his partners by turning concerns they had in their relationship around to make them feel guilty for everything that might have been wrong.
Based on the things I've seen people bring up in recent days makes it clear that he's a manipulative asshole that's been very careful and efficient at covering up his closet skeletons for many years.

So what will a new Skate look like? EA Black Box, the studio that developed the previous games in the series, is since years ago no more. Are the key people of the team that made Skate still part of EA, or are they scattered across several others companies by now?

I think this is a detail most people asking for a sequel never thought about.

"The best game ever made", huh.

Ain't saying the game seems bad, but pretty sure all the other websites out there hawking that as a headline is just clickbaiting you with conjecture and/or ostentatious bullshit.

In some cases it might be clickbaiting.

But I truly believe it's this weird thing called opinions that most people are basing their statements on.

The email about if they use subtitles or not must the most read email in Giant Bomb's history, right?
I want to say it has been read at least three times on each coast.

I usually have subtitles on, and I'm pretty much always going with English even though it's not my first language. I find it easier to follow along by reading what I'm hearing.

Seems like people are freaking out about the stream overlays Jeff's using in this quick look. First thought that came to mind for me was "I wonder if this wasn't meant to be a quick look until either a bit into the stream or perhaps even after the stream was over? Or he simply just forgot/didn't have the time to fix it beforhand and just went with it?"

I didn't browse the site a lot all monday, so I didn't catch if it was scheduled to be a live quick look or not.

Either way, it's not a big deal. If you think it's a big deal, considering the circumstances, you really need to reconsider where your priorities lies.

Anyway, watching this has inspired me to both go back and play the original games, since I'm probably not going to pick this up just yet.

I'm also inspired to re-watch the videos from the bonus DVD that came with Command & Conquer: The First Decade collection.
A lot of great interviews and behind the scenes of C&C and Westwood Studios. If you, like me, enjoy learning more about gaming history and watching documentaries on the subject, then I highly recommend checking out this playlist.
