@Konanda: What isn't the definition of review? Whether or not you purchase a game? Jeff seems to think so, so do many people responding to the article. We can assign any meaning to the word review and the word critique. In my mind you critique a game in a review. You seem to grasp the idea of subjectivity in entertainment, but can't apply it to definitions of words. You also seem to fail at defining what either of those words mean to you, i just find it interesting. It's a weak writing device to allude to something and criticizing it without taking on actual responsibility of the finger pointing.

@Pinworm45: Yeah, no-one cares. Except for the 500+ comments of course.

@Konanda:

Particularly the idea of elevating a review above purchase advice into the realm of a critique. The two are very different things.

I don't think they are. They're not that different. Like you said it's all about entertainment and the reason you purchase the game is whether or not the entertainment is up to your own standard. Hence, the critique. I agree they're different though but not by much. And whatever, they're part of the same company not the same person they don't need to think the same.

@LudoMantis: Dude, it's looking pretty good. Vinny's hair actually makes a U on his head.

@AhmadMetallic: Dude, if you think this is creepy you clearly haven't been on the internet for very long. If you had to spend hours modeling a character, wouldn't it be someone you like? Get over it man, people do it all the time. Never seen fan drawing and sketches?

Still appreciate the write-up Alex, try not to listen to the others. I'm sure you've developed a thick-skin already, for you are a public servant of the inter-webs. But none-the-less thought i'd say good job. I found i read the article even though none of it relates to me because the style was so engaging.

@ervonymous: I feel yah man. I guess it's harder to make everything work right when you're not working with one standard hardware configuration. Just makes me sad. Wish it didn't happen on the PC, i might get a console to avoid all those set backs.

@Azteck: Yeah but on PS and Xbox, there are (i can only assume) stringent quality assurances. From building the bastion, they went through a rigorous process to get Bastion on xbox. But some of the stuff that gets released on steam makes me sad. And i suppose that's part of the whole steam thing, a low barrier to entry. I just want to buy a game and be able to play it.

After watching Red Orchestra QL...some games are absolutely frustrating to troubleshoot. I recently bought Bastion and it lost my saves and stop recording achievements. Dead Island, borderlands and magicka had horrendous networking problems.

I am just so tired, so very very tired.
