Alright, before I watch the video, I have to know: do they realize that the dude in the thumbnail is actually modeled after Larry Butz from Phoenix Wright?

Only date format that is acceptable is the ISO-standard 8601. YYYY-MM-DD hh:mm:ss

It is easily sortable and works just like numbers with larger units to the left. But at least UK date format is in ascending order but US dates are just DUMB with its random order.

i honestly dont think i ever played this on a HDTV. watching brad play brought back memories of the hundreds of hours i poured into this game without being able to read a single word of text on my CRT

Dead Rising 1 is a good game, it just isn't a good Dead Rising 1 game.

Just keep going, this is what I need. REAL Dead Rising. Also, next time don't kill Kent, things get REALLY weird if you play it right with him.

Drew's eye story needed a trigger warning

So while it suffers from the same issues all TV sci-fi face I really have to say The Expanse is pretty much at the top of the pile as far as look and feel goes.

It definitely isn't Stargate or Farscape or any Star Trek where you kind of have to go in with the willingness to accept that you're watching "TV quality sci-fi"

Sure it's not a 2 billion dollar 90 minute movie... But it's really well produced. As someone who does kind of easily get turned off by low budget genre televesion, despite absolutely adoring genre-everything else, I was very impressed by the Expanse.

I was also totally blown away that it was a Syfy show; it single handedly raised my oppinion of the network. Now I'm willing to give "Syfy originals" a fair shake.

I really need to read the books though.

With regards to advertising:

I'm largely immune to it, to the point where I literally cannot remember what commercial was on a split second ago. I have such a disdain for having my time wasted that I guess my brain eventually conditioned itself to essentially block them out entirely. For a long time I assumed everyone was like this. After all, no one likes being interrupted for bullshit. If you wanted a hamburger or some neat socks or some shit, you'd look into it yourself. If it doesn't cross your mind often then you probably don't need whatever the thing is.

however, a large majority of my friends will seemingly go out of their way to be advertised at. They click on links on their instagram feed, they check out the trending topics on Facebook, and they were very nearly angry at me, at the very least incredulous, for paying $3 for an ad-free twitter client. They couldn't understand why it bothered me so much.

Advertising has become such a mainstay in society, at least in North America, that even otherwise intelligent and critical people enjoy it, so long as it's not being forced down their throats. It's bizarre to me.

You're supposed to kill zombies in these games right? I've never played this game, so I defer to Brad as being the expert but every time he escorts an AI they either get distracted or killed because he just runs past all the zombies spamming the "FOLLOW ME" command yet seems to be surprised when it happens.

I hope this will continue!

Here's the thing: his method is often the MOST effective while escorting. If you pause to kill zombies, it tends to attract more zombies, they get distracted, they die anyway. The AI is AWFUL.

I couldn't handle all that eyeball talk. It's the only thing I get squeamish from. Like, pass-out squeamish. I can't even watch someone mess with their contacts, let alone listen to Drew describe his surgery.

The 360 version didn't drop frames. The Digital Foundry analysis proves this. This remaster drops frames resulting in a pause upon impact where as the original version didn't drop any frames. It kept a smooth 30fps during attacks.

This just popped up on the front page for me. Weird.
