They have it in multiple places on the front page of the site, and they mention it on every stream recently, that's more than enough. They said no ads, so I want no ads.

Again, not a huge deal, but it sort of sucks.

This is exactly why their Destiny discussions in the past were painful to listen to.

For all the dozen or so hours they talked about the game, 95% or more of their focus was on the rewards system.

The other 5% was a "the shooting's good too, I guess".

The shooting makes that game. The fact that there are still people playing today is a testament to that.

If an FPS had the high-level design / reward issues that Destiny does, but the core gameplay was like Borderlands, people would drop it in an instant.

It's a bit hard to understand how Jeff feels about Twilight Princess, I feel it keeps going all over the place from it's a bad game that Nintendo should never do anything with again, to it's a meddling game that's kinda boring, to it's an alright game with high productions values and good parts.

But then again, I don't have the same opinion on the hits on the game. I felt it was the most charming zelda game yet, topping ocarina as my favorite game as I played through it the first time. I feel Brad's disinterest is powered by Jeff's opinions and I wish he would take this opportunity to finish the game and have his own opinions on the game.

I wasn't as offput by the premium advertisement as some of the other commenters seem to be, but I think it would have been better to just provide a friendly reminder (10-15 seconds) rather than a long advertisement.

Jeff says he's gotten feedback that people want to be aware of sales?

Okay, here's my feedback saying I don't want ads on the podcast. It's the primary reason I subscribe. Reminders are on the front page and at the top of every page.

The insincere ad reads annoy the crap out of me. Other people enjoy them, which is cool, but there's a whole feed of versions of the podcasts for that.

Worst thing ever? No. But I'd strongly prefer they weren't there.

It doesn't really change much of Dan's point but there totally is a grenade launcher unlock in Battlefront. It is called "Barrage"

Yeah, I'd rather there not be an ad here I don't really care if it is for Giant Bomb themselves, premium cast should equal no ads.

I'm just going to chime in on this ad thing. Advertising for an ad free version IN THE AD FREE VERSION of the podcast is false advertisement. This is not okay.

That said, I do enjoy longcasts.

I only watched the European Direct and apparently the American Xeno segment was awful compared to what we got.

RTS-MOBA hybrid kind of exists within the Arcade already with Nexus Wars.

The way Jason and Dan talk about playing FALLOUT literally made me vomit! You duders are cheaters!!!! I love you all though despite Jeff naming his character the same as mine

With Jeff's love for Phantasy Star, he'll be missing out if Xenoblade doesn't appear on his radar. Although Austin is excited for it so maybe it will have a minor chance for giant bomb recognition.

That empty, soulless world design Brad talked about has been present in all Bethesda games. Even when you get to Diamond City it's just this space with a bunch of robots standing in their designated spots - although I guess now there is a story justification for why all NPCs look and act like marionettes.

I absolutely adore Arkham Asylum. It's one of my favorite games ever, and the first game I ever platinum'd. However Uncharted 2 was and still is the superior game in almost every respect. Uncharted 2 did for video games what the original Matrix did for movies.

I love my Bombcasts long.

I too have been loving LotV so far, I'm really glad I decided to jump into it straight away rather than waiting to finish Fallout and MGS first. Will still go back to those but it's great to love StarCraft again.

Oh, also Battlefront is out tomorrow so I'll probably end up playing that. I'm quite happy it's fairly shallow though - I just want to dip in for the occasional Star Wars with some friends. There's too many other great games to have another I need to dedicate a bunch of time to... In fact, I started playing Heroes of the Storm yesterday too (cause I didn't have enough on my plate already) and that game is way better to play than watching it makes it seem.

EDIT: You guys playing Battlefront in first-person are crazy. Sure, it looks pretty and I had fun with it for the first half an hour I played... But third-person feels so much stronger with the added situational awareness and ability to see around corners or over ledges. Also c'mon Brad, Rush is the Battlefield mode. Also Jason Dadstreicher talking about Griffin is the cutest!

Interesting hearing some Twilight Princess talk. I'm with Dan on this one, in that I'd like to give that game another look to see how it holds up (especially if I don't have to deal with waggle or pay too much for a GC copy) I remember liking it well enough (not as much as Wind Waker) but it may be telling that I don't remember a ton of the specifics outside of "there was a ball-and-chain and that was pretty cool". It was a little hard to parse if Jeff thinks it's an actively mediocre game or a good, but uninspired one. I seem to recall Brad didn't play it, so I'm not sure where he's getting all dismissive from.

Also Dan's story about synthetic weed made me laugh harder than one of his dumb stories has in a while, so thanks for that.

ahhh so no specials for long time users? Sigh ... I can say for 29 bucks certainly worth it for any on the fence. Metal Gear scanlan and no commercials are worth it alone.

One of my main problems with Tomb Raider is the gun sounds. They're teeeerible.

LotV's ending is super dumb, but the game was still really fun. I'm looking forward to trying out all the other new stuff they added.

Amazing podcast this week! That extra hour is filled with emails that lead to anecdotes about review scoring, old GOTY discussions and drugs.

All this Twilight Princess shade is kind of hilarious when you get to thinking about how highly these dudes are praising Fallout fucking 4 when that game is literally another one of those games and its not as well put together as Twilight Princess was when it came out.

Also, hearing anyone talk too highly of Fallout 4 is downright depressing. That game is fine but come on, let's not get hypocritically crazy here.

Twilight Princess is not the best Zelda game (that's Link to the Past) but it is a good console Zelda game. The biggest two gripes I can give are the opening is too slow and the game lasted about 1, maybe 2, dungeons too long. Other than that it was fantastic, the world was pretty well realized, and the wolf stuff was nowhere near as bad as anyone has hyperbolically claimed. Yes, it was another 3D Zelda game on consoles but in reality it was only the 3rd full game as Majora's Mask was a weird offshoot. I like Wind Waker but the last 1/4 of that game is atrocious and detracts from the overall game. What would have been a "9" became a 7.5 or 8, because if I actively do not want to finish the game because of the horrible triforce hunt (was worse before they made it kind of better later) then that is bad. Also, the last 30 minutes of Twilight Princess is some of the best stuff in ANY 3D Zelda game. Now, if they wanted to complain about Skyward Sword, totally...that game felt half assed and actually worse because of the motion controls.

If their claim that Mario Maker is this good now I really hope this means its gonna over top Metal Gear Solid 5 in the game of the year talks because I'm going to be very depressed if MGSv just gets loved on the whole time.

@humanity I agree, all Bethesda games feel lifeless. Skyrim was mostly just open patches of snowy land with absolutely nothing going on. I just think the Elder Scrolls games have a leg up because the art design is generally better and more interesting compared to "everything's rusty and broken".

@rollout You're not wrong. I mean last week, and Brad says people took him wrong, Brad claimed he just "accepts that" from Bethesda games (in regards to broken games) and most everyone just agrees with him; its like....everyone agrees Fallout is samey, kind of broken, jank, and lifeless but hey! 9/10!

I mean, The Wind Waker is amazing and one of my favorite games of all time, but at the end of the day Twilight Princess kind of has larger amount of good dungeons than TWW and still had some neat thing going for it. Even if the combat on the Wii version was never so good.
