Quick Look: Endless Ocean: Blue World

Great Quick Look, the "fish tank" part had me laughing to the point where I had to keep replaying the part.
 
As for the game itself, I was actually kind of surprised to see that there seems to be some over-arcing narrative going on.  It looks kind of interesting, but ultimately not for me.
 
Wow, based on some of the comments I've  been reading some people seem to have real strong feelings for this game!  Which Hey, if you like the game, good, I hope you have a fun time playing it.  If you don't like the game, good, don't buy the game and have fun playing whatever else your playing.  Everyone is entitled to their own opinion whether it'd be negative or positive.

Turn off that new age soundtrack and load an SD card with the soundtrack to The Life Aquatic!

Why'd they change the elegantly simple video thingy? :(

Giant Bomb needs to stop doing QLs of games they totally don't care about and Wiitards should stop being so fucking high strung about their goddamn console. God, get a life, people. Stop calling Jeff and Ryan idiots and fratboys because they made fun of a game for the sake of the video being fucking bearable.

The S.T.A.L.K.E.R. QL was annoying as our guys totally put an equals sign between Czarnobyl and Russia. But despite my irritation as a citizen of Poland (because I totally bet our asses will be smacked if they do something associated with The Witcher), I didn't hit the comments insulting them.

So, stop it. And @Linkyshinks: with all my sympathy for you, GTFO if you consider the site's staff idiots because they made fun of a game from your gaming system (for the love of God! Yes, it's a game!), which they do to a helluva of other VG's and platforms. Because spending time with something you consider dumb, cretinous and below your taste is the worst kind of hipocrysy.

I don't know much about the game, but in regards to Ryan vs. Endless Ocean fans, I would side with the Endless Ocean fans solely because they've played it.
 
Love the Quick Looks, love the guys poking fun at the games, but not so much a fan of writing off a game as garbage after 15-30 minutes of playing, or in this case, watching someone else play. Everything up to that point: hilarious.

If I had a Wii, I would actually be interested in renting out this game.
 
However, I don't have a Wii, and I thought this Quick look was hilarious, if slightly unrelenting.

 Actually, seeing that this game (so far) got 79 on metacritic and 80 on gamerankings sways me very much in the direction of getting it.   They should just stop making quick looks of games that suffer heavily from being played by a multitide of guys with a funny bone and a camera.    Edit: Make no mistake, if it were clear that GB quick looks are as good a source for evaluating video games as yahtzee's "Zero Punctuation", nobody would complain. However, with the sad glorification the GB crew receive from a good portion of the userbase, these QLs are used for exactly that, and that's where the problem is. This is at times positive (Shattered Memories and indie/unknown games that lend themselves to the format and hence impress those that might never have heard of them), but very often just annoying.   They don't particularly care for a game, don't really play it, don't really get it, have a good time ridiculing it, and despite whatever quality the game has, there will always be two dozen users in the comments going "Oh yeah, looks like shit, not even on my radar (anymore)".   That sucks. "

So thankful for Jeff & Ryan on this great quick look as without the funny stuff from them, the music would have put me to sleep.

Had a good time with this game. Unfortunately it doesn't apply well to the Quick Look format. And you need to go into it being aware that its kind of like a casual diving RPG and is great for relaxing.

Tons of stuff to do in the game, good music, and good graphics for Wii I suppose. Play it with a Pro-Controller!

I'm a little disappointed in Ryan for not just saying "not my kind of game" or something.

I really - REALLY love this Quick Look. Really brings me back to 2010 and the early days of the site. Ryan and Jeff at the top of their game just riffing together with tons of energy.
