I beta-ed this game. It's okay. TF2 is better in my opinion, and costs nothing per month.

Yes! I was hoping they'd do a quick look of this! I've been having a lot of fun with it on PC for a while with the beta, happy that other people get to see this. 
 
EDIT: LOL, the queue was down when they got in! Very unfortunate- that doesn't happen too often, but does happen once or twice every day.

Ryan's version of the story is better than the actual game's.

Oh and this game looks like utter shit. Luckily, I don't need to worry about my journalistic integrity or anything, so I can just come out and say that this game seems to have absolutely no redeeming qualities.

Everything about this game looks like a mediocre mod. How can this warrent $12 a month. $12 full stop would be too much.

No offense, but that game looks absolutely terrible.

This reminds me of Tribes vengeance and crime craft.

The graphics look pretty good to me.

At what point does a game become so not worth playing that a quick look simply consists of a brief  Ad Council PSA styled message?

*catchy musical flourish, iris fade in to the GB logo and some sort of "now you know" type catch phrase*
 
I think this Quick Look could have benefited from something like that and would have saved me 30 minutes of my life.  I kept hoping it would get better, I stuck with it until the end, upon seeing "Duder, it's over!" my only reaction was a small, bewildered grunt and an odd empty feeling.

I was desperate for a PC shooter that I thought this game was good.Then I played the BFBC2 beta. Nuff said. lol. Period.

So that last mode is basically a ripoff of Payload from TF2...

Been playing the game since beta, I really enjoy it.  There are some interface issues when it comes to stuff in town, but the actual gameplay of the levels is pretty fun and rewarding.  Good class mechanics, skill builds make for a bit of variety, and armour allows for a lot of unique looking players within classes.  
 
Worth noting (a point of oft confused) that the monthly fee only applies to the Conquest strategy-game aspect of the game, everything else is included in the game. 
 
Conquest isn't active yet, so I can't say how that adds or detracts from the game, but it sounds promising.

I have been thinking about pre-ordering this, but decided against it because I wasn't sure I'd really play it that much. It looks like a newer version of Planet Side, which isn't necessarily an awful thing to be.

Where they start trying to make up the game's story while looking at the title scene is f'ing hilarious. I half-expected that a publisher was going to bust into the GB Offices with a huge novelty check and offer them $2m to develop a shooter based on a sci-fi corporate post-apoclytic cyber-genetic soldier faction game called "The Quickening"

Stop me if you've heard this one before: TF2 and a horrible korean mmo step into a broken teleporter....

It's like they took Tribes, took out the fun game mechanics (jetpack + shooting), and changed the weapons into bullet hoses (Tribes used precision based weapons). Then tried to combine that with Team Fortress 2 game modes but completely disregarded decent level design in both terms of game flow and aesthetics.
 
It's actually pretty insulting that they're ripping off two of my most favorite, and arguably some of the best PC first person shooters ever created without adding anything innovative or unique of their own.  I suppose they have melee, but hey, TF2 did that better also.  Actually it's pretty funny how a game that came out in 2007 looks better, has better sound, has better levels, and has better style and design, and is also free to play after a purchase of only $20 (and has gone as low as $2 when on sale).
 
Now I'm not saying no one can ever do jetpacks in a game or payload gametypes ever again.  But if you're going to do them you better damn well take a step forward.  Instead we've got jetpacks with the balls cut off, and the worst, most bland payload map I've ever seen.

I hope there aren't too many people taken in on this shill of a game.
