Quick Look: Star Fox 2 (Plus the Rest of the SNES Classic Line-Up)

Always a little bummed that whenever EarthBound is brought up, the crew expresses mostly indifference towards it. It's one of my favorite games, and I'm not even a big (J)RPG person. At least Ben had more to say.

The dude in F-Zero that Ben mentioned is James McCloud. In F-Zero X, he's totally wearing Fox's outfit in the art. I remember hearing that he is Fox's dad, and I was always confused by the fact that Fox had a human father. I didn't know they just meant the name is the same. (I never played Star Fox myself.)

Weird, I guess I just always assumed that secret of mana was a really long jrpg and never wanted to commit to it. Watching the quick look is actually going to get me to go back and play through an snes game, how wild.

Someone really needs to bring F-Zero X to a UPF. That game gets brought up relatively frequently but nobody at GB knows anything about it. I think the fact that, yes, all the 30 nutjobs from F-Zero GX are in that game, the art design is just as crazy if not worse, and every race has all 30 racers on the circuit at all times, at a constant 60 FPS, might probably blow Brad's mind. The game was ugly as hell, but it still plays wonderfully and totally deserves to be remembered!

As someone from the UK where the Mega Drive seemed to be more popular than the SNES (I only knew one person with a SNES when I was a kid) the crew's hate on the Mega Drive/Genesis routinely fills me with sadness.
