Sad to see all that food wasted. Especially the fact that animals have to die to produce that food.

Dan Ryckert is the personification of everything terrible and wonderful about America.

Cool UPF....that super gun or whatever being used to fire up those JAMMA boards is cool.

Not sure about the whole chicken fry bit though, probably could do without that....I was hoping the nacho cheese debacle would be the end of Dan's "culinary" hijinks but I guess this is going to be a thing now huh?

@otterchaos: Agreed. Though, I'm surprised this was the first UPF you skipped parts of. To me, this wasn't much worse than usual.

Probably the presence of the fries, the fact that Dan was afraid to eat said fries meaning he had no buy in on the bit anyways, Dan's usual "I'll give xxx 5 Dollars to do xxxx" stick and the general lack of actual gaming and gaming related conversation did me in. Of course as I said in my other post "Different strokes for different folks" and it seems from the comments that many did like the episode. For me I like to watch UPF while doing something else and tune into the gameplay and game talk but this one I found distracting in the extreme so I skipped most of the dad talk and some of the food stuff. I don't mind if they play a bad game, in fact I think those can be some of the best parts of a UPF but when nobody is invested in what is being played then it falls flat. I would like to see GBEast come up with a live show to challenge UPF, I say we call it a CarNavWal show.

Eloquently stated - some people have a hard time empathizing with life outside their privileged bubble. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for mindless fun, but not at this expense.

Buffalo Wild Wings is a fine place to watch UFC without a cover, but beyond that, isn't anything amazing. Their wings are decent and the beer selection is good for a chain place, but both are a bit overpriced.

I love Buffalo Wild Wings. I can see it being bad in San Francisco though, mostly because San Francisco can ruin anything American. "Artisan" snobbery and all that.

don't know why you're picking this as your battle, though. if the problem is with how the US handles its food i don't know how shaming dan is going to change anything (granted: again i don't see much point anyway). it just appears to me a lot of people's moral crusades here only start and end with giant bomb.

i never said wasting food was a good thing (re: claim i'm living in a "privileged bubble"), just that there isn't a point crying over 20 lbs of chicken that probably would have been thrown out regardless, and is insignificant in a bigger picture that (yes unfortunately) probably won't ever change. i'm happy those in other countries are so resourceful with their food but i don't know how that has bearing on this situation.

So much wrongitude...... Wingstreet is Pizza Hut's awful wings. Buffalo Wild Wings was a decent place at the beginning, and they did a good job even keeping the franchises in line, but then they decided just to cash in and put one everywhere, so now most are pretty awful. They used to have 50 cent drumstick Wednesdays, that was great, and the Jamaican jerk sauce was awesome. Not sure about a prison, but yeah, their floor layouts are awful, it gives you the feeling of being in a dank bar at midnight even if it's noon outside. WingStop is better and cheaper than BWW, and a million times better than Wingstreet. Cracker Barrel is where old white people go to die.

@ripelivejam: I totally get your point of view (albeit somewhat cynical in nature), but since you're only on one end of the keyboard, you can't really judge where my "crusade" starts and ends.

Granted I could be talking out my ass and only take the recycling out to the curb once a week, which I wouldn't blame you if you thought (why should you trust me?)...the comment section is for commenting - and I commented how wasting 20 pounds of chicken is just dumb.

Neither my or your opinion matters (we're on Giantbomb, not in front of the UN) - but I was simply agreeing with a fellow duder on why needless waste is needless. It's my personal sentiment that it isn't not appropriate anywhere/anytime (at least until we solve the world's environmental/societal ills).

Only one real negative: The chicken fries, I'd say they're gross, but they're not even worth getting worked up either way. I feel like Dan was really excited about doing 'that', and everybody else couldn't care less. The only reason they got any attention at all is because of the timing of end of day Friday munchies. I'm good with no more dumb "food CraZiness!".

Man, I still have my copy of Sunset Riders, one of my favorite games growing up, I played the shit out of it!

I really like Buffalo Wild Wings. I always get their honey barbecue wings (bone-in because boneless is for suckers) and I love it every time. Jeff and Brad are weird about their food though. Can't believe I'm saying that since I'm agreeing with Dan.

Edit: Dan bought the chicken fries with his money, he'll do with it what he wants. He earned that money for that right. If you want to talk about wasting food then you can consider any of your overindulgence a waste as well.

Buffalo Wild Wings is great. They're Screamin Nacho Burger is probably the best burger I've ever had.

I kind of lost the thread on whyDan brought in 20lbs of Chicken Fries. It seemed like he wanted to dare people to eat them all, or something, but it all kind of derailed after someone took a look at the inside of them. So they just sat there. Was pretty damn random tbh O_o.

Not sure I enjoyed the chicken fries. If you're going to do a 20 pounds of chicken fries bit don't do it half heartedly, go all the way. It seemed like an opportunity lost!

I feel like Dan brings a good amount of chaos to Giant Bomb.
