It's not a proper Halloween UPF without Kish! Hopefully Jeff will put on a costume again next year.

@marginalmagus: A lot of that is water weight from the initial drop in calories, and I'm sure he isn't consistently measuring at the same time of day (ie. for scale readings to have any meaning, you should weigh yourself at the same time every morning, after relieveing yourself, and take an average of the week).

Did Dan just casually mention that he dropped 15 pounds in a month?! That is seriously impressive.

More than impressive, that's very unhealthy

No, no it's not. Not if you do it right.

That's barely twice the recommended limit. If he's otherwise healthy (not counting diabetes, which is almost assuredly due to his terrible, terrible diet,) and has exercised before (considering he ran 5ks in his past, he's more than accustomed to strenuous exercise,) it's not even slightly dangerous or unhealthy. What's unhealthy is going from 300-pound, zero-activity to full-activity, and losing 4 pounds per week. That's going to put a serious strain on your cardiovasular system, leading to potential heart problems, nutritional problems, and muscle issues, not to mention potential injury (from things like sudden repetitive stress and torn/injured muscles, falling injuries from passing out, or dehydration.) Additionally, losing weight quickly likely won't stick.

Source: Consulted a doctor about an exercise regiment, and expressed concern over losing 12 pounds in 2 weeks (it was fine.)

It's not fine unless you are grossly obese going from 350-335 or something. Losing that much in such a short time is due to extreme methods and is very likely to lead to gaining the weight back once that unsustainable behavior ceases.

Thanks for the info.

I enjoy some of the solo stuff the site does, but having at least two people together always makes it more entertaining.

If GameSpot ever falls apart, I hope Giant Bomb can get Mary. She's awesome and fits really well with the rest of the team.

Also, Drew sliding that Reservoir Dogs reference when he saw the guy on the chair on F.E.A.R. (31:40)

I totally agree, from behind that 100% looks like Drew. I didn't see this live, but when I saw the screenshot for the vid before you hit play, I seriously just thought it was Drew.

Those Jackbox games look pretty darn cool, took them a bit to figure them out though, but I would love to see more playing of this set of games.

I have to comment on Brad's graphics card comment again. That the level isn't running smoothly is probably limited by the CPU and not the GPU.

At 1:01:16, that 'Get Gummy Hands' is a reference to One Piece; main character named Monkey D. Luffy has a 'Gomu' (rubber/stretchy) body. Neat reference in the game!

I know it makes me the worst kind of nerd, but holy man, whenever the crew talks horror... haha.

Edit: Also, I get the feeling that Dan is going to hate, hate, hate the first Halloween movie. It's excruciatingly slow ("excruciating" by Dan's tastes, that is... I think the pace is just right for a 70s slasher) and serious in tone. He might like 2, though, if the first doesn't make him check out.

I know he'd love 3, at least. If any Halloween sequel is made for Dan's sensibilities, that's the one.

I liked the first one a lot. 2 was pretty good, too.

BTiLC is a stone cold classic, I expect @brad to have done his homework on this by Monday!

Mary: Queen of Halloween Costumes!

The Halloween segment is the only time the Jackbox announcer doesn't sound like a complete bleating Goatboy.

The physical interaction aspect of "Fakin' It" is really fascinating, but I can't imagine who besides professional video content producers will be able to play with an audience. I stream games, and even if I could find 4 other people in real life who want to play and don't mind being on camera, I sure as heck can't afford that many good-quality lavalier mics, and the logistics of getting all 5 people on one webcam in a position where they can see each other but not each other's screens seems next to impossible.

Correct. 15 pounds in one month will absolutely not be all fat. The larger the weight loss in a period of time, the more it is composed of water loss and lean body mass. I wish the best for him, but I've seen this hundreds of times throughout my career. On occasion some folks lose a bunch and keep it off, which I hope is the case here! But we all know how much he loves Taco Bell & garbage food.

Didn't mean any of that in an insulting way (re-reading my post, it sounds like I did), it's just that it's SUCH a horror movie-ass horror movie.

I still stand by 3, though. That film is a mess-terpiece.
