The copy of the stream on YouTube is very glitchy. I imagine that was also the case for the uploaded copy on the site Drew/Jason pulled it until they can transcode (or maybe just upload) a local copy of the stream

The fact that alex was the only one that got jeff's reference at the beginning was a slight bummer.

This might be my favorite press conference this year (Disclaimer: have not seen Sony yet) but Ubisoft is always something that I look forward. Whether they hit the mark or miss it, they always seem to go for it. This one was a little of both, they hit the mark on some stuff (Wildlands, Watch Dogs 2, Steep,), they missed on some other stuff (South Park, more Trey and Matt- the game looked fine) but I was still interested throughout. Also Aisha Tyler is super awesome, and I am glad that she is till hosting these things.

I'm not really sure why they were so down on the South Park part of the presentation. I thought it was pretty good. Also, they talked over the actual gameplay changes.

South Park: The Fractured But Whole pre-order. 59.99 for standard and 89.99 for the GOLD EDITION?!?!? Is this some kind of fucking joke? My Butthole just got fractured. I never got the chance to play Stick of Truth and was looking forward to this. No thanks. Not to mention the $100 OMG edition. Too bad we are not all made of Gold.

Last season of South Park was hilarious in my opinion. No surprise both Patrick and Alex hated it :| Not being salty, just stating the obvious. Then Patrick on Twitter stating that its sad South Park creators aim their fire "in the wrong directions". :|

hell hath no fury like later period south park fans scorned. *rolling eyes as hard aa i can*

i'm inclined to agree recent south park has lost quite a bit of its luster. pretty much fell off of watching it these past few years. stick of truth was ok from what i played but it mostly fed off nostalgia rather than creating something new. meh, i'm willing to believe the game just didn't demo well here.

overall though i was pleasantly surprised at how well ubisoft pullet it together this year. good game showings and a strong finish. i'd probably only getrid of the fake team chatter, or at least tone it down a bit.

I'm not shocked that Alex didn't enjoy the latest season of South Park.

A bit surprised at the vehemence with which he seems to drive that point home though.

Ah well, different strokes.

I might have missed something, but in that Watch Dogs mission, the main character doesn't kill anyone. He pulls out a gun to shoot out some windows Die Hard style, but I don't think he hits the civilian diving to the ground. Given he goes straight back to tasering and distracting people I think that's the read of the situation.

Not particularly enthused about the game regardless, just think for making such a big deal about it the Bombcrew seemed to miss that.

Honestly, South Park was by far the high point of the show. I get that there are certain people that have a personal beef with the show, especially recently, but they shouldn't let that cloud their judgment and dismiss it so easily.

"Why is everyone down on South Park?"

Does no one get that the South Park game kept repeating a black slur & it would make Austin justifiably frustrated? And that that would color their perceptions of the game as a whole?

I'm impressed with most of what was shown. Steep, Ghost Recon and For Honor are looking pretty damn good. A little upset most of what was shown was going to drop next year, but it's nice to have something to look forward to in 2017 all the same.

Also, typically bad and scripted "chat" aside, that gameplay of Wildlands showed some serious potential to me.

@huser: I noticed that too. Didn't appear to actually hit anyone when he started shooting. It didn't go like I hoped though: I was imagining Marcus getting the data and then jumping the totally not a ferrari out of the window and onto the crane platform.

@vucubcaquix: Honestly, not really. Should a Jewish person have been more salty at the Stick of Truth game? Apparently not. Not saying Austin can't/shouldn't be upset about whatever, I just didn't hear it/see it. Also, I've never heard him spit yang about Quentin Tarantino when he's been brought up, so...yeah.

Austin wasn't the most audibly salty person about South Park, but most of Austin's "hot takes" blend together for me (especially in an E3 "talk over" show) so I possibly missed what he said, if anything. I mostly just remember Alex and then Patrick's own hot take on Twitter.

The Coon character has been around for almost a decade, they weren't repeating it as a slur, it's short for Raccoon. Of course South Park know exactly what they are doing with that wording but people are interpreting that as if they are insulting black people.

What about when other media use the N word, because that happens often, especially in hip-hop. Is that no longer a problem?

We should all know after 17 years that South Park is not serious and the creators relish in people being offended, best thing to do if you don't like it is to simply ignore it.

I haven't kept up with South Park but I watched about 4 episodes of last season, from what I saw it was quite excellent.

I think certain folks may not like certain characters in South Park because unlike a lot of the stuff South Park satirizes which they can easily laugh along with, a particular thing here or there might hit a little too close to home and cause uncomfortable reflection.

@vucubcaquix: Was he upset about the Jewish slurs in Stick of Truth? Or how they made fun of handicapped people in that game? Or even the black slurs in the first game when you play as a black warrior or thief? I'm honestly wondering. Because if he wasn't then it's kind of hypocritical.

South Park is a known commodity. It's been known to do this for a long time. The Coon character was shown last year when they first announced it. Nothing was said. But now, all of a sudden, stop the fucking presses and get upset about a known commodity that has been doing this shit for over a decade and a half doing more of the same. They make fun of everything. Literally everything. Mormons, Jews, blacks, whites, fat people, skinny people, handicapped people, little people, people from Jersey, Muslims, Buddhists, Scientologists, homosexuals, transgendered people. Everything. There isn't one thing that I don't think they've ever made fun of or satirized in modern culture.

I get that it can be uncomfortable. But standing on that soap box while being ignorant to the fact that they do it to everything else is just stupid. Either it's all okay or none of it is okay when it comes to something like this. People should not get to pick and choose just because they're offended and feel personally attacked. Where was the defense of the Mormons, Jews, blacks, whites, fat people, skinny people, people from Jersey, etc in the past then? Hell they've talked about and joked in the past about Scientology on the Bombcast. Who's to say that that wasn't hurtful to a Scientologist? Where's the outrage about that? Is it because it's a nutjob cult that it doesn't apply? Because again that's hypocritical.

That said the game doesn't look good. Be down on it because of that, not the other fluff.

i'm glad aisha tyler said something about the pulse massacre but immediately showing footage of a game based around shooting south american people afterwards feels totally tone deaf. give that shit some room. please

i don't want to sound like that sort of person but after i stopped being an Edgy 14yo south park stopped being appealing, especially considering that like, being "anti-political correct culture" is basically aligning yourself with a part of society that I Don't Want To Be Around. that's some milo yiannopoulos shit. pretending that it's speaking truth to power or whatever the fuck is also nasty. it seems like a big part of the stick of truth being neat was that it looked exactly like the tv show but the second time around it doesnt hit as well. the combat seemed like it would be fun in a better game

looking at watch underscore dogs underscore two it seems like they're aiming for some sort of gta-style irreverence, but as soon as you even slightly miss the mark on that it looks like a corporation trying to appeal to the Teens. companies have been doing that for so long, and not even rockstar nails that these days. the Zeitgeist moves so quickly now that i wonder if the long development time on video games means that a video game will never be able to execute a satire of contemporary america well?? or maybe theyre just over-relying on ephemeral cultural ideas like internet memes (which go bad so quick nowadays, and look so dreadful when they're over) when they could focus on other cornerstones of american culture like gentrification and permanent war. but otoh most irl "anti-establishment" rhetoric seems real silly and out of touch so ??? good fucking luck trying to make anything of that stripe at all. it's hard enough in real life, making that stuff a prominent part of your storyline in a serious way is probably impossible. making it super campy might be a way around that but you are actually Killing People so that might just be totally discordant and weird?? watch dogs 2 is fairly campy and its already weird that you're murdering people. also like fool me once ubisoft don't even try it

also the npc animations shown in the wd2 trailer were neat. that mask is real stupid but i want that guy and marcus to kiss. steep seems like the gameplay is based around doing the same thing over and over again in different environments and courses. someone said on the video that it reminds them of open world side missions like just cause 3's wingsuit missions and that's immediately what the game reminded me of. i can't imagine paying $60 for that. maybe i'm just not the target audience?? it has a bad name

I really appreciate how the South Park guys continue to succeed at doing the whole toilet humor thing while being insightful and knowledgeable about the culture they parody. That trailer at the end was on-point with the super hero franchise stuff.

Kind of hilarious how they called that segment "awkward" when they were the ones making it awkward and uncomfortable with the dour-ass completely humorless atmosphere they were projecting during the whole thing. What a bunch of downers, man.

Could not agree more. The only awkward thing about the South Park presentation was the crew's reaction to it. It seems like they just don't like South Park humor, which is fine, but they said they really liked the first game.

What a bunch of old grumps lol. The first SP was hilarious and this one looks to be the same with much improved gameplay. I'll admit "The Coon" is a lazy joke but of course every "PC" elitist is going to come in and cry foul while in the same day they will go spin the latest YG song and not think twice about it. Case in point with @entireties who seems to have been offended at the very notion that Aisha didn't declare a 10 minute moment of silence before moving on with their PAID time to use the theater. I'm a 29 year old USMC veteran who still thinks SP can be hilarious i.e. Black Friday Trilogy. I guess that puts me in the "Do Not Hang Around With" group that you generalized to be only for edgy teens and "anti-PC" crowd. Thanks!
