and (if you are getting this) for what platform?
i'm gonna get it for PC and play co-op with my friend at night.
Game » consists of 10 releases. Released Feb 12, 2013
Me also on the treesixtee. I've dutifully played (almost) everything Aliens and Predator related to date, sure as hell not gonna stop now. God I hope this game is good. Please be good. PLEEEEEASE.
If I did get it, it would be for PC.
I may - actually, I'll probably - own it someday, but when that day is depends entirely on its reception. I'm not so sure that it's going to be a good game yet, or if it's just going to be a generic shooter with an Aliens coat of paint.
I'll also hold off if it's a sound game but the narrative re-uses half the dialogue from Aliens. I do not need to know that they mostly come at night and I definitely understand when the game is over.
If it's good, I will absolutely pick it up for my computerbox. I am such a slut for Alien that a new Alien game coming out nearly gets my panties to drop.
I love the movie Aliens, and just the idea of a game recreating that movie makes me giddy... but I've never liked a single game Gearbox has ever done (sorry Borderlands fans, but I just don't get the appeal), and considering all the delays and lukewarm advance press this game has had, I think I'll wait for the reviews.
Yes, I kinda have to, I love Aliens too much. I have my fingers crossed it will be good... I'm not convinced it will be.
Colonial Marines is one of three games that has immediately got my attention in 2013, the other two being MGSR: Revengeance and the US release of Pandora's Tower. (Finally!)
So I wouldn't be surprised if I ended up getting Colonial Marines- but given that I tend to be skimpy on early-year game purchases, I'm not holding my breath for it.

At first I thought you were joking, but I had to make sure.
Fuck.
...still, if the game itself isn't full of them then it won't bother me.
Depends on the reviews, but it'll definitely be a while before I pick it up if I do (Would buy it on PC.) I still have XCOM, half of FC3, half of ACIII, Dishonored, and Sleeping Dogs to play and I plan on buying DmC and MGS:Rising Revengeance. So, kinda got a lot of games to catch up on.
No preview or indications whether this is going to be a good game? I'm hoping for some replayability for the co-op, but I'm not sure how that'll go without a more open world experience; it seems this has a lot of story/scripted scenarios. That means it could be awesome the first time you play but you'd remember all the scares the second time through. Maybe I'm wrong but that's where I'm at with this. The screenshots do not impress either really.
If the reviews are good or after watching some quick look action here at the bomb. If it's just ok, I'll buy it later for half the price or so.
The more I hear about it, the less excited I am about it. I don't really have an explanation for that, I guess it's not the first time its happened to me and I've still enjoyed a game, though. But I'll get it... Either 360 or PC, I haven't decided, as I don't think there have been any comparison shots out yet. I'm a sucker for Aliens and Alien related things, and as Hicks was the most badass character in the series and I thought he was rumored to have a part in this story... I'm sold.
Already pre-purchased on steam as a valentines gift from my girlfriend. I built my new PC for this game, so it was gonna be a day one purchase for me anyway.
I love the Aliens franchise and would get this on 360 depending on the response it gets. Some of the gameplay footage I've seen is worrisome, i.e. scripted funhouse moments and the combat seems a bit slow. The addition of gimmicky new enemy types is also a little off-putting. We shall see, but so far Aliens CM does not pass the eye test at least.
Well considering I have only ZombieU for my Wii U, I'd like to have a reason to play that damn system again... and probably get it down the line for PC on steam.
interested in it but probably wait to make sure Gearbox hasn't screwed up the co-op as much as they did with Borderlands 2 (at least on the 360). Nothing ruins a co-op experience more than random freezing and not being able to play together because a "compatibility pack won't download...

HOW IS THAT GOOD!?
It bodes badly for the game's writing. Sure, a small reference here and a little nudge there is nice, but if the whole game constantly references Aliens and the other movies, then it won't be very good as far as story goes. There's "fanservice" and then there's annoyingly going "HEY LOOK WE'VE SEEN ALIENS ALMOST AS MANY TIMES AS YOU HAVE!"

@believer258 ah its just achievement names. I don't think it says anything about the game other then at some point somebody thought it would be cool to go with that as a theme for the achievements.
I understand this and I'll of course wait for the game to come out and for me to play it to pass final judgement. I'm just expressing annoyance at the achievements list names and a bit of apprehension for the actual game's story.
Only if word of mouth is good.
And I don't mean the "It's great if you love Alien(s)" because that means nothing to me (haven't seen the movies). If it's genuinely a great shooter then maybe I'll get it for 360.
I got burned by the new AVP game when it came out so i am at least gonna gold out until the reviews come in
I really need to see this in action, and what the word is on it before I make my decision. Although, love for Aliens is making that a hard proposition. GAME OVER MAN.
I am wanting this but a bit worried about the last Alien game.
Can anyone reassure me?
I'm trying to decide between this and Dead space 3.
P.s. I love the alien moves. ( not as much alien vs predator)
I LOVE YOUR RIPLEY.
I have it preordered on Steam. I'm too much of an Alien/Aliens fan not to check it out and see it for myself.
I'm waiting for some raw video and opinion on it (give it to me raw baby!) before I decide. If I decide to get it, it will probably be on three-sixtee.
I'll get it at launch most likely. I'm intrigued to see if they were able to pull off a game that even remotely resembles the atmosphere and general high points (in terms of suspense and action) of Aliens. An all-time favorite of mine.
But am I actually confident they were able to? Not really ...
They'll most likely let stuff explode left and right three minutes in and have you and your buddies decimate legions of drones like they're cockroaches throughout, because: video games ...
