Last week I got a delightful hour of hands-on time with New Super Mario Bros. Wii. Oh, you didn't read it? It's cool, I'll wait for you. Please, go ahead.

I can't wait for the game. Looks great. Really digging the art style; it's crisp, it's clean, it's Mario. Sounds great to me. 
 
And yes, it does look like (a much better looking version of) New Super Mario. Bros. on DS, but how terrible... a sequel to one of the best DS games. 
 
Need more good platformers out there. Glad to see it.

Looks like it might be fun, but I hope to Marigod that they vary the music more than this.  Frigging thing is already stuck in my head.

I like the trend of using 8-bitish sound effects.  Dragon Quest VIII did that with some of the attacks and items, and it was a fun wink to fans of the classic games.  NSMB does the same thing.

i believe that the excitement of the GB staff has grown to such levels over the ice flower that they will create an award for it for this years "best of" stuff.

Pardon me if this is trollish since I am a fan of old school mario. But this admittedly looks like it'd be a 15 dollar downloadable game on any other system instead of a 50 dollar big winter release. And whats with the hammer bros not throwing hammers? Hopefully its just because its a snowball level and nintendo isn't worried about kids throwing hammers at each other to be cool.

I thought there were too many, since I can't even afford them all. I won't be able to buy a new game this holiday season, even though I wanted The Crystal Bearers.

Went back to read the article as I skimmed it before. Good show on the writing. The only thing that threw me off was a seemingly random "though." 
 
I've said in the recent past that I've given up on Nintendo as the company does not do much to add upon their games besides adding a few new features and considers it an upgrade. In this case, there's a significant amount of changes, and I might end up picking this up. The only thing holding me back from a sure fire purchase is friends to play with. No online friends to play with cuts things down to my family and a minuscule number of gamers from my college that's an hour away. In other words, I'd probably never use the multiplayer save for a few gos. 
 
@Brad: What's up with the toad bubbles that show up 52 seconds in the video?
