Alpha Protocol Dated For October 6

Ill wait for reviews, but "sounds" impressive.

This game is definitely on my maybe list. I will be waiting for reviews to see how this turns out, it looks cool but Obsidian does not have the greatest track record.

Alpha Protocol is an instant buy for me. It's like a combination of all my favorite games. Plus, character customization.

I have been looking forward to this game but the box art doesn't look too hot. And it is pretty pretentious by saying it is "THE" Espionage RPG, eh?

looking forward to this. just starting to get into rpg's now that most are turning to real time rather than turn-based combat (i've never understood that)
on a completely seperate, insulting note - is it just me or does the young dude look like a thalidomide with his arms crossed and hands tucked under like that?

That cover art..is not good.  Looks super generic.

This just doesn't look good to me, the character conversations seem stiff and a step down from Mass Effects's
And yer the concept is original for a game "espionage rpg" but it just looks like a B spy movie story.

it looks cool, but I am going to wait and see on it.  There are many other games I was to get this fall and only a finite amount of money to spend.

Box art look incredibly generic and I doubt it'll grab any shelf shoppers. I hope they plan on some tv spots or a big internet ad campaign.

I didn't have this game on my radar, because I thought it was PS3 exclusive.  Now that I know I'm just an idiot who can't read, it's on my list.  I'm not completely sold on the fact that it's an RPG, though.  It's been billed as Mass Efect with spies, so that sounds cool.  I still think the way to go for a "spy" game this year is Spinter Cell Conviction.  I'll probably get this one thougjh.

Nooo. That boxart is stupid. Bland generic guy is so bland and generic he doesn't even have a face and is transparent. Or maybe he's just that good. It's pretty easy to grasp the concept behind it, it just isn't presented in a way that doesn't look...bad. Good thing I'm not buying it for the boxart then.

Yancy Ostrich and Constantine Breako. Zee Arr Germada Klugerth, what? The characters in this look intentionally supremely silly and over the top. Don't know if I'll be able to take this game seriously. Looks more like a parody than an homage I reckon. Gives off the vibe of a lighthearted cartoon for kids. Just...weird. Was under the impression that it was going to have a more serious tone, be a little more grounded in reality. Oh well, I'm still moderately interested.

Has anybody else noticed how many of the protagonists in these sorts of games have Black handlers? Like in Splinter Cell, you had Lambert. In Mass Effect, it was Captain Anderson. Now in AP, it's Yancy.

"M+Sega+Espionage RPG" guarantees a rent ASAP.  Box art itself wouldn't sell me.  Can barely see that the guy's dual-wielding.  Now, a grenade taped to a guy's mouth would ensure I pick it up to read the back!

Im into it, I cant wait, it looks different, kinda like a modern Mass Effect with all the dialogue options with many choices for friends or allies.

I am sold, I want now.

When would Obsidian actually make games based on original IPs, not regurgitate from similar gameplay formula using Bioware hand me downs? The game is essentially a Mass Effect Redux.

If they are basically going to do an espionage/spy version of Mass Effect, I kinda wish they had gone all the way and and let me do a customizable character and let me pick a male or female agent.

Just sayin', if they really want to get me high as a kite for this title, they'd have these features.

Yeah, the game looks great to me, I get kind of a modern-day Mass Effect vibe from it, but honestly, I wouldn't be terribly surprised if it's all an elaborate facade and the game gets three stars. I'm not putting a pre-order on it, but I'm most definitely keeping an eye on it.

This game looks awesome. I have been hearing a lot of good things about this game on the Bombcast and such, but I really haven't read too far into the game until now. Looks a little like a modern Mass Effect to me. Wow this really caught me off guard, I'm interested now.

Edit: Oh yeah and of course everyone should buy the game if only to support Matt Rorie.    :P

Day One for me. Looking forward to it.

I havent been interrested about this at all so I dont really get the hype. Though im a huge action RPG fan, Alpha Protocol never grabed me. Probebly since all my hype has been dirrected at Mass Effect 2. Though im not agains buying AP if it turns out good but thats nothing that i expect, probebly since ive had a gruge agains Obsidian for making a "bad" sequal to KOTOR.

I dont know, Im still kind of skeptical about it. Something about it hasnt clicked for me yet..

Already hyped for it.  It's being made by Obsidian.  That alone sold it for me.

I'm not really sold on it since the graphics doesn't look too great...but I'm really hoping it's gonna be good though.

It seems box art always gets a bad wrap, but in this case it's justified. It's not only lacking imagination, it's lacking delivery. This looks like a photoshop 5 magazine cover story tutorial.

I will definitely be buying it the week it comes out.... Don't really like the box art that much, but it's not that big of a deal.

Loved Mass Effect but this could be ok.

Yep, gold and blue are definitely the colors of espionage :)

This game is on my list of games to watch out for this fall.

i WAS super excited for this game. Then when i saw it in action at E3 not so much. I love the concept of it but from the combat that i saw at E3 it looks like its going to be very boring. Time will tell as games can change a lot in 4-5 months

Looking forward to this. Less Swords and Sorcery more guns and espionage
