Giant Bomb's Users Pick Uncharted 2 As Best Game Of 2009

Ha I got everything from my list on there except Battlefield 1943 and Altitude, no shock there. I gotta admit though, I'm surprised to see Torchlight on the list 

Oh man, that is damn close.

Just chiming in that I was a little impressed at how close the votes between Batman and Uncharted 2 were as well... until I realized that one is a platform exclusive, and that platform being the one with the lowest install base. I would guess about twice as many people played Batman as Uncharted, and yet Uncharted still came out on top. I'm happily amazed at how loved that game is, and hope this means its sales will have legs. The next 5 are all multi-plat, and the fact that it's only that few before 2 more exclusives pop up impresses me. Good for Infamous, Shadow Complex, and especially UnCharted 2.

Gotta say we made a pretty darn good list

The list doesn't bring up too many surprises. The only one I really dispute from there is New Super Mario Bros. Wii. It wasn't the best Wii game this year in my opinion, but it doesn't bother me too much. After all, it is a well put together game.
 
Nice to see Borderlands really high up. That was my personal game of the year.

I disregard all of the results except the spot for Red Faction. That game was revolutionary and was easily the best game I played in 2009. I think it being in the top 20 is good enoughj.

It warms my heart to see Infamous, Resident Evil 5, & Demon's Souls on this list.

For a one platform title, Uncharted 2 did fantastically. And w00t for Shadow Complex too :D

How more people would vote for Red Faction over Ratchet and Clank is beyond me, but I assume most that would ended up putting Uncharted and Batman at the top D:

Unfortunately no real surprises here, although I played quite a few of the winners and did like them. I would like to see a longer list or a feature about the more obscure choices very low on the list. It would be cool to know where Prototype and Saboteur and other less popular games ended up... 
Anyway, this was very interesting and might be a good idea for other topics throughout 2010.

I feel like I'm the only soul who really, really detested Batman for the awful boss fights and the poor navigation at some parts.

Man sure wish I had the extra money for a PS3.

6 games I absolutely cannot stand in this list. Hopefully in 2010 I'll like some more of the "well-received" games.

I'm surprised to see Batman so high, despite its quality.  Torchlight, Borderlands, Dragon Age, and Left 4 Dead 2 are too high up the list too IMO.

I didn't get to make a 10 game list, but I made a 5 game list.  The Top 5 games are pretty much what I expected.  Batman: Arkham Asylum should be at my house tomorrow and Uncharted 2(along with Uncharted) are the next two games on my list.

I'd be interested to see how many #1 votes both UC2 and Batman got. That bombcast argument was pretty epic and this shows that our users were pretty split too.

I deem this list AMAZINGLY SUFFICIENT.

This year rocked for the PS3.

Interesting to see how close Assassin's Creed 2 and Dragon Age were. While Dragon Age was my #1 game I pretty much agree with the top 10.
