Konami's X-Men Arcade Beat 'Em Up Coming To PSN, XBLA

One of the few stories to slip out of New York Comic-Con last week shouldn't come as too much of a shocker: X-Men, Konami's 1992 coin-op beat 'em up, is coming to PSN and Xbox Live Arcade, Marvel Comics said during a panel. This beaut was rife for a rerelease. 
 
Marvel didn't talk release window or pricing at the panel, but a trailer shown did dispense a couple of details worth leaving in your skull. Foremost, it appears as if Marvel will be leaving the core game alone: its exclusive character selection, over-the-top play, and funky music will be retained. The lone extra feature confirmed via video was the inclusion of drop-in and drop-out co-op, meaning you'll be given the option to play with five other people on-screen, just like in the arcade version. I have some super strong fond memories of playing this in the arcade back in the day!

I have a lot of memories of this game. For those that never played these in the arcades or whatever probably wont care but i'm sure there are enough of us out there that want stuff like this. I remember every place we went when i was a kid that had arcade machines i would hope they would have this one. Now like others are saying i hope they catch on and do the other cool arcade ones as well.

KICK. ASS. also I barely remember this game aside from seeing it in the arcade and how cool it looked. And i agree with whoever said this, release Simpsons Arcade next. That game was so awesome;plus it's still everywhere! If you know where to look that is.

I couldn't care less about comics but this game was damn fun.

It would be cool if they added more playable characters, but I doubt tht will happen.

I want to be excited for it but man these games age poorly.  Even the great Final Fight and Double Dragon (whom all of these games come from) are barely playable for more than one sitting.  These were built to eat quarters and make you die every 30 seconds to feed it.
 
I played Nightcrawler, his kick flip could be done to make it so you never got hit, and Wolverine was crap since his health didn't regenerate, so I didn't play him on principal.

Give me this and the Captain America and the Avengers game.  

Probably won't live up the nostalgia, but I might be down for this. I don't know how much money I dropped on this back in the day. When I read the back breaking threat on the front page, I didn't take it seriously until I saw it was Nicholson who posted this. Now I will have nightmares for days about Brad N busting into an arcade and breaking my spine barehanded for selecting Wolverine.

Nostalgia

Never played this game, but this seems like something they should put out on Game Room if they were serious about that...

Finally, I can play as Dazzler in her blue skin tight outfit with awesome brown jacket. I remember playing through with every character on the six controller cabinet at Putt Putt. Although the six controllers made controlling it strange for some of them, as the directions for every stick were the same direction but the side controllers you had to stand sideways for.

Cool beans.

Oh man, gotta get some more of that Colossus action.

I'd love to get this (at the right price). We will see how that goes.

This was the first arcade game I ever beat, played NightCrawler and was playing w/ a colossus. Best 15 bucks i have ever spent
