Well, Mega Man is hard, what can I say?

Yup that's Mega Man Alright. Mega Man 9 is Mega Friking Hard the trial felt somewhat easy but damn 3 hours in an only beaten 1 boss.

BTW how many times did you drop that Dual Shock Jeff? It was a white Dual Shock right?

I DL'd the demo and deleted it after 10mins of play out of fear it would exit my PS3 and proceed to kick my ass in real life.

Megaman is all about trial, error and memorization.  That pretty much means it has to be annoying.  Of course, also quite rewarding if you have the paitence to put up with it.  Which.. I don't anymore.  Back when I had no money and my parents bought me two games a year.. yes, definitely :)

This Game is really Hard, but its been a while since ive played a game with this level of challenge and no check points or saving Really brings me back.

Proof that they shouldn't make new games to play like old games for a reason. They were fun back in the day but they're just frustrating now. Even going back and playing the old games is really frustrating.

I still say the old Mega Man games wasnt hard to beat if you compare to other games for the NES. Waiting for MM9 on XBLA.

What the hell do you expect using those controllers

This guy I work with called Mega Man 9 "masochism for gamers." I still have yet to play it, but I would imagine this is how my sitting with it would probably sound. Mash some other words against the good ol' "F word" and throw a couple "goddamn its" in there and that's probably what you'd hear from me.

yeah, this game is way too hard. i'm still tempted to play it just so that i can master it, but wipeout hd tempts me otherwise. and wipeout is very persuasive.

Those were the best.

One of the main reasons these older games were so damned difficult is that the controls were so freaking limited. We have dual analog sticks and pressure sensitive buttons with tilty controls for a reason. Not "just because we can" but because they add depth and controlability to the games. It's like composing music without a keyboard... possible but more difficult than it needs to be.

EDIT: So Jeff, are you using a modified d-pad 360 controller? Or are you actually playing Megaman9 with the analog stick?

That was great.  I loved Jeff's expressions and I am still probably gonna get this game anyway and suffer his pain.

Okay, I'm sorry I had to laugh at your misfortune, Jeff. But, damn, that was hilarious! Personally, I refuse to let the difficulty level of MM9 stop me from beating the $#!+ out of it.... with zen like patience( I guess that means it'll take me a month).

I gave up last night on Jewel Man stage. I remember beating Mega Man 2 on a regular basis; I've just gotten worse.

You read some of these comments with personal experiences, and it's just as though Mega Man 2 or 3 had just come out and we're all gettin' together talking about its frustrating moments...cool.

I think anyone who starts with the magma man or plug man stages is going to need a straight jacket before they reach the boss.  Boss order is everything and the game should probably communicate that better.  First hour in and I'm halfway done, but I haven't fought and of the REALLY tough stages yet.

Still, though, he got his ass kicked by SPLASH WOMAN?  If you don't know how to handle wet females, your manual dexterity is seriously in question.

Its stuff like this that makes me wish I had been born in time to experience the classics. But I'm glad I have some impossibly hard game to look forward to spending years working up skill enough to be decent at it xD This reminds me of playing RotK. God. That game was frustrating enough if you could run it at a fair speed, but my computer BARELY handled the damn game and that just made it even worse.

This is such a hilarious slice of gaming life bcause everyone's been there. I sure have, even down to punching the arms of the couch to no avail. This is a great video and it's awesome to know Jeff is just a normal gamer just like everyone else. Bravo!

I find it funny that Jeff is so frustrated by Megaman 9, but he never seemed to complain about all the obstacle courses and pitfalls Bionic Commando: Rearmed had.
