Michael Phelps Gets His Own Game

Yeah I saw 60 minutes tonight also. Phelps is a pretty cool guy.  I hope is very game is actually allright. His name will sell it though so it doesn't really have to be good to make money.

But how can they have a game on michael phelps when he always wins? Must be a first person shooter; you have to learn chinese through roseta stone software and then shoot your way out of communist china.

Are they going to ignore the fact that like half the medals he won was because of his teammates like the media did.

Maybe it'll be like Punchout!! and he's the final boss and he's "impossible" to beat, I'd be down with that, but only if it was released for the NES.

Hopefully it wont be a shit button mashing fest like all swimming games.
Maybe if its on Wii, it might work well. IF they get the controls right :)

... it will be complete trash.  Swimming is using the skill and the body that you have built up through practice and training to get from one side of the pool to the other as fast as you can... people like Michael Phelps find it rewarding I guess, but how the hell is that supposed to translate into a video game...?  "Smash the A button as fast you can to win!" ?  If I find that game on a store shelf, I will place it on the floor, shit all over it, and then use the game manual as toilet paper.

Two things:
1) Duh! Of course their gonna make a game about Phelps, or at least make his name and face big enough on the cover of:- MICHAEL PHELPS presents: swimming, game, thing, whatever... dude, MICHAEL PHELPS!!
2)Everyone... EVERYONE plays CoD 4

P.S. On the back of the box will read: HE WON SERIOUS GOLD MEDALS, SON!! PHELPS GOT DA BLING!!
P.P.S. I actually hope they do this and have him pose shirtless with the gold medals around his neck throwin' up "paper".  Phelps make it rain on dem hoes.

The game will be only for the wii and you use the wiimote to inject steroids and purge after eating a cheeseburger

Being forced to swim in various action/adventure games is hellish enough. An entire game based around competative swimming sounds like nightmare.

Gold Medal Challenge was an awesome game that didn't have button mashing in the swimming event. Rock rock.

Heres how the game will go: press A  and B button to move and then press a direction on d-pad to change swimming styles, that's it! Sorry but there is not nearly enough substance to justify devoting an enitre game to swimming, plus i know it is said a lot with sports game : "i would rather be doing the sport than playing it", but in this cause i think that statement fits.

I think we can pretty much call 2009 GOTY right now.

I see this as an Ecco the Dolphin game, but as a (SUPER)human.

Better yet, I would like to see it as an open-world adventure type game, in which Michael is practicing in the ocean and a giant(bomb) wave takes him out to sea.  He drowns, but is rescued by a group of underwater dwellers, who appropriately take him back to Atlantis!  It turns out they are in trouble from a rival underwater city (maybe they are the ones who are melting the ice caps!), and they need Michael to lead their army, because of his unmatched speed and leadership!  You collect Gold Medals to unlock new moves.  So on and so on.

That will be a great game...not.  Actually I believe that Michael Phelps eats around 10,000 calories a day when he trains.  And in season he trains 6 days a week.

The dude is an american legend! and he's totally got ADD! LOL Just listen to him in interviews, he's never paying any attention. hes awesome i hope the game is actually fun. 

He could do FMV as Sonic. That is not at all a comment on his speed in a swimming pool, but a comment on how he looks identical to Sonic.
