The only horror thing I've been interested in in years cancelled, huh? Konami seems like it is just haemorrhaging all over the place. Someone put it out of its misery...perhaps with a lead pipe or 2 x 4.

The way things seem to be going for Konami, I doubt they'll be doing anything with the Silent Hill franchise. Our last hope may be that they sell off the rights to someone else that will give it the care it needs to be revitalized.

Just sell the Silent Hill IP to someone else already, Konami, jesus.

The stock de-listing is non-news, but just has odd timing because of the game's cancellation. The NYSE was a low volume market for Konami stock, and companies pull out of low volume markets all of the time. They will still be listed in both Europe and Japan, and will still be offering their earnings reports in English.

Guy's lets pool our resources and see if we can buy all Konami's IP and give it to a good developer. Though I might be able to afford it on my own, I bet they'd give it up for £6 and a hotdog these days.

It's my understanding that a delisting is a maneuver that usually preceeds a chapter 11. I hope to someday understand what the heck is going on.

Makes me very sad that something unique like this, which captured a lot of gamers' attention/imagination has been axed and something like Black Ops 3, the same but now with robot crap is a big thing.

Its just really sad, I can't even be mad. Just sad. This was so promising, something looking up for Konami and Silent Hill. After so many years of neglect, something interesting was on the horizon for my all time favorite franchise. Yet, they just took it away.

Whoever is responsible for this should not be allowed to have a job in the industry.

Seems like Konami has been operating in the LangZone for a long time now.

I feel like that is the worst possible move, as you're really just saying "screw you" to Kojima, and making all of his work for nothing. Konami sounds like it is going to drown one way or another at this point, so I don't think they need much help.

Man, this is all such a bummer. P.T. was awesome, and I was incredibly excited for Silent Hills. Also sad about the future of MGS. Just such a shame.

All this leads me to believe Konami would be willing to sell the MGS license. And my guess is at a high enough price that Microsoft will pick it up. Just wild speculation, but something that seems possible in wake of all the current craziness.

What a waste of time and resources they deserve to go under so their IPs are sold off to people who actually want to do something with them.

I think to call Konami a rudderless ship at this point would be giving them too much credit. Oh well, at least there's still money to be made in gambling apps disguised as bad phone games.

I think at some point the game would of ended up being a disappointment in comparison to P.T given that from all accounts the actual game would not in any way have resembled that style, so maybe cancelling has saved Konami from having egg on its face in that department.

FUCK! This just adds to the kojima leaving Konami flame. On the one hand it sucks that this won't come out (and although they said ZOE3 was happening I never believed them) BUT I am excited to see non MGS kojima games.

This just blows. Out of curiosity, I wonder how deep they were into this game financially?

If I were to guess, probably not that far. I figure development wouldn't really start until after MGSV was out in the world, so it was probably just planning and preliminary at this point. However, no telling how much P.T. cost.

konami's doing fine as a company, they simply don't want to make games anymore.

I don't (can't) even play horror games and I'm bummed the fuck out.

Obviously no way to know for sure, but PT itself couldn't have been cheap to produce, and if they were putting something that crazy and polished out there to tease the game I would bet they had some significant resources leveraged against Silent Hills already.

This is super disappointing to me. I've never been a huge MGS/Kojima fan, but I love Del Toro and I think Kojima probably could have brought a good kind of "video game surrealism" to the creepy horror design sense that Del Toro does so well. I really hope the two manage to come together on another project somewhere. A dark horror game seems as much a departure from Metal Gear as Kojima could get if he was truly looking for a change of pace after helming that series for so long.
