Activision has announced plans for a higher-end version of the standard DJ Hero package. It's called Renegade Edition, and it'll come with some different hardware. Here's the full, company-provided list.

There are no pricing details associated with the Renegade Edition, but with retailers already listing the standard edition at $119.99, it's a sound bet that this bonus version will be, you know, more than that. Any guesses? I'm going to claim $149.99 as my guess.
We also received a set of renders of the case and turntable, in case you were wondering what DJ Hero would look like if you were playing it in cyberspace. For a game that's out in around three months, you'd think there would be at least one photo of the limited edition gear suitable for printing. Oh well. I'm into the idea of getting a stand for the turntable controller, mostly because actual DJ'ing takes place at a certain height. Holding the controller in your lap seems like it'd be sort of a pain.

Why do people gaff at collectors editions? Everyone knows that you can get the regular edition for cheaper. Its not like you HAVE to buy the CE. It just adds somenifty stuff for a high price tag.
I'm going to probably pass but I love the nod to Renegade, Jay-Z, and Eminem. Their collaboration on that song is one of the best things to ever come out of music ever, in my opinion. What I wanna know is, what are "unreleased tracks"? I'm pretty sure Jay-Z and Eminem haven't been in the studio together making more collaborations just for DJ Hero. Are they tracks for the DJ Hero game? Because if that's the case, this is absolutely the wrong way to get them to people.
this is awesome because i didn't want to spend the money on a real DJ rig and get girls and be creative. I totally just want to do this. I really can't wait for when the turntables are usable with a GH game and I get to use it for songs from 311, linkin park etc., except, i will buy the exclusive linkin park DJ turntables for that game.
With every piece of news that comes for this game, I get even less interested each time. If I read the word "Eminem" in relation to videogames one more time, I'm going on a serial slaughter rampage. In Prototype.

I remember wondering if this game would have Renegade on the track list but that was before hearing the shitty mash ups. I'm pretty damn sure that this game will fail.
I say pocket the cash and save up for a real turntable and a mixer to get you started if folks are that interested in DJing. There is so much awesome equipment nowadays, you don't even have to search look for used Technics anymore.
