Your Most Wanted Achievements: 7/4 - 7/10

A new release takes the top spot from Prototype as Steam achievements make their presence felt.

OK, here we are, one week later, and it's time to stare at the most popular achievement-related pages on Giant Bomb. Unlike last week's list, which took into account all of the data we've collected thus far on achievements, we're now going weekly. So this data only goes back as far as Saturday, July 4.

Let's start with the most requested achievement lists on the site, which I've expanded to ten games just for the heck of it.

Top Ten Achievement Sets - 7/4 - 7/10

  1. Trine
  2. Ghostbusters: The Video Game
  3. BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger
  4. Red Faction: Guerrilla
  5. Prototype
  6. Plants vs. Zombies
  7. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10
  8. Fight Night Round 4
  9. Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood
  10. UFC 2009 Undisputed
So Prototype seems to be slipping down the charts, which isn't a surprise since the game is just about a month old now. Ghostbusters: The Video Game, however, holds onto its second place spot. And hey, how about Trine, huh? That's a pretty big debut. In case you were wondering, Trine is actually the most popular game on the Giant Bomb right now, if we're just talking traffic.

While I'm getting all list-crazy, I thought you might be interested in what new achievement lists have been added to the site since last week. Wonder no more!

Yes, you can finally see the Korean achievements for Speak Out English, which sounds like some sort of weird edutainment "teach English to Koreans" thing. And hey, someone out there has an early retail copy of NCAA Football 10, which doesn't ship until 7/14. As someone who's been known to get ahold of games before they come out, let me tell you: pre-release points are the sweetest points.

With that, let's move on to the most popular individual achievements on the site last week. Self-Deception is still totally huge, probably due to its non-specific description, which makes it sound like something you should automatically get for completing the game. I'm also willing to entertain the thought that I'm obviously skewing the results a bit by linking directly to the top ten achievements.

Whoops, wrong Prototype.

Top Ten Individual Achievement Pages - 7/4 - 7/10

  1. Prototype - Self-Deception
  2. Ghostbusters: The Video Game - I Love You When You Rough-House!
  3. Fable II - The Fowl Player
  4. Prototype - Return Fire
  5. Prototype - Web of Knowledge
  6. Ghostbusters: The Video Game - Ghostbusters Drinking Game
  7. UFC 2009 Undisputed - That was easy!
  8. UFC 2009 Undisputed - World Class Grappler
  9. Ghostbusters: The Video Game - Egon's Guinea Pig
  10. Red Faction: Guerrilla - Revolutionary
ADDED BONUS FACT! Only four of the 2,218 people we've spotted playing Red Faction: Guerrilla have Revolutionary. That's 0.2%. You know, by the time I was getting near the end of that game, the last thing I wanted to do was go around and complete all those side missions. So I'm not too surprised that it's a rare one.

Meanwhile, on the back end, Andy and Dave are working on some new charts and graphs that'll add all kinds of cool "who's playing what" and "how many achievement unlocks is this game seeing per day" data. And we've been talking about different ways to handle secret achievements. So stay tuned for all that and I'll be back with more of the same next Friday.
