Just scanned the ads from the Sunday paper and the Pre-Order bonus from Best Buy for B:AC caught my eye. Quoth: "Get a Best Buy exclusive downloadable Robin character so you can play as Robin in two challenge maps when you pre-order Batman: Arkham City"
Hrmmmm... I don't see Robin in the main game (how would he fit? how has this not leaked? etc.)... but, would they make a Robin model just as DLC for two challenge maps? (you know you'll be able to buy this at some later point, that's just how it works nowadays)...
Interesting...

Robin is in Batman: Arkham City!

Need to find if I can get my grubby fanboy mitts on this content. Arkham Asylum is one of the few games I bothered 100%ing and I plan to do the same for City...

We do :P
Whoa really? Almost made me consider buying Arkham City As a kid, I was the sidekick type. When me and my bro played that Iron MMan and War Machine game, I was always War Machine. You weren't War Machine because you're the sidekick type, you were War Machine because obviously you knew he is the superior all ass kicking metallic messiah!
The quote at the top is not quite complete, just below is: "Available on PS3, X360 or PC" (Wait, does this mean I can ONLY buy it on one? Really, cause I've got Achievements on both the PC and XBOX 360 version of AA... Maybe if I walk up to the checkout with both PC and 360 copies they'll make me choose one?)@OldGuy: is it only ps3 or is it also x360
And (for those annoyed by the store exclusives) I'd bet actual cash money that this will be able to be purchased as DLC down the road... it's the new way of the world...
I suppose my point in the original post was more on the "Hrmmm... would they REALLY model a character JUST for two challenge maps... Do we think maybe they're going to try to shoehorn him into the game? And is so, how is THAT going to work?"
But, hey, whatever... (and I recognize that no one will read the main point on this post AGAIN as it's past the first sentence and, you know, this is the internet)...
I'm okay with it. The Joker was playable in the first game so this continues that direction. Catwoman is too integral at part of the game to count in the same way. I guess they could have gone with another villain, but that might be a bit "been there - done that". I've always like the Robin character (I missed most of the Jason Todd years) so adding him in is fine with me. Ideally, by the time this particular franchise is over, we'll also have been able to play as Batgirl, the Huntress and Nightwing, as well as a few more baddies.
I wonder which Robin it will be....Dick Grayson is my favorite Robin but it doesn't make sense for him to be Robin is Barbara Gordon is already Oracle and not Batgirl....
Either way, I like most of the Robins so I'm all for this!

God damn that show was awesomeI'll only be interested if it's this version of Robin.
Kinda seems like a waste as well, and it's strange that no one else mentioned this in interviews. When your outfit looks like his, it really doesn't matter what you do.
But after Teen Titans, Batman: The Brave and The Bold, and Young Justice, I'm surprised people still think Robin's a pussy.
Me personally, I think there's something somewhat fucked up about putting a kid directly in harms way after teaching him ninja skills, it totally fits with Batman for me. But that outfit.
Strangely enough though, it doesn't appear that Arkham City is on their online store.@CptPanda29 said:

I'm ironically interested by a milestone as to how they unpussyfied Robin for this game. Any pics?
Yeah. Even when I was younger and watched the Animated Series I fucking hated Robin. Hopefully by Robin they secretly mean Jason Todd and by Jason Todd they secretly mean Red Hood. Yeah. That's totally what they're gonna do...right? :(

I'm stoked about this news, I hope it comes out for DLC on the PC in the future.
i dont see him in the main game, it just does not fit. a challenge map character is fine with mewhy not? i think Robin could fit, he gets a lot of bad rap from the live action show, but he's really not as lame lol
