    Batman's Mediocre Christmas Adventure

First of all the title for this game is completely redundant. This isn't an origin story. Also, this has nothing to do with Arkham Asylum at all. And let's not forget to mention that it lacks all the heart and soul from the previous games of the franchise.

This installment is nothing more than a bigger map cash grab...but i loved it. The reason for loving it being simply because Arkham City came out two years ago and I've been begging for some awesome Batman gameplay with a new story for so long and don't get me wrong, this game is pretty darn enjoyable to play however it just lacks heart. It's not that this game is bad, it just lacks a lot of things that really set the others apart. There's no awesome easter eggs or clues. The story is same same and kind of predictable. Most combat wasn't hard at all because it was exactly the same mechanics. Apart from the Bane boss fights and martial artist opponents there was nothing new. It was all the things I had learnt to deal with in the last game.

When I did the Deadshot side mission I knew exactly how I was going to have to beat him before I even set foot inside the building where he was. And again, not that it was bad, it was just the same thing, it was stale in a way but yet I loved it because well....it's a fantastic engine to play on.

The ability to quick travel is a great addition and makes it fell more like Batman, but maybe one day if Rocksteady takes the reigns agian they'll handle it better, because that one repeated cut scene every time I use it is so boring and dull and ugh. It would be great to see in the next gen if we could maybe remote call the Batwing and actually fly it around the city, I mean that would absolutely kick ass!

The added content is also kind of meh. PLaying as Deathstroke is pretty much exactly the same as playing Robin in Arkham City.

Again...anything negative I've said is out of frustration because the game could have been a lot more. Sayign that it is lacking is probably not true because it has great stuff just that it's all stuff that we've seen before. I recommend playing it if you love the Arkham Games because it is heaps of fun but that's about it.
