Overview

Blake Stone: Aliens of Gold is a science-fiction first-person shooter that runs on the Wolfenstein 3-D engine. The player guides Blake Stone through 6 episodes with 11 levels each. Every level is a floor, similar to Wolfenstein 3-D; the objective is to unlock the elevator in order to ascend to the next level. Each episode ends with a confrontation with Dr. Pyrus Goldfire before the main boss. The only exception is the 6th episode where Dr. Goldfire is the main boss.

Reception

Although being initially well received, Blake Stone was released only a week before id Software's Doom, which quickly overshadowed it. As a result Blake Stone was met with disappointing sales, but still managed to spawn a sequel, Blake Stone: Planet Strike, which was released a year later.

Availability

The game is still available at Good Old Games and supports Windows 7, 32 and 64 bit versions
