I can't wait for the game! I just pre-ordered my copy and almost put the whole £40 down. It is going to be in my opion the 2nd best game out this year next to Batman being number 1.

Who is excited about Borderlands!
I am psyched, preordered it two weeks ago and can`t wait. Too bad it comes out three days later in Europe though
SO exctied. I don't even care about the reviews for this game. I'm getting it anyway. Because after all, I loved Infinite Undiscovery, Last Remnant, Star Ocean 4, Too Human, Blue Dragon - the list goes on - and all these games have gotten fairly poorish reviews. (well, in the eyes of the critics and their messed up reviewing systems where a 7 is considered mediocre)

As a semi-professional game reviewer, I take exception to that statement. Next time you get a "C" on a test--AKA a 70%-79, AKA a 7 out of 10--you be sure to tell your teacher they have a messed up review system.
And yes, I'm very excited for Borderlands. It seems like a game that even if it turns out to have major flaws, it's going to be a lot of fun to play with friends, and it will be a great value.
Reviewing games, however, is the exact opposite. How many times have you seen the headline of a review that says "It has all the ideas, but they aren't implemented very well.", which in turn gives the game negative scores. Every time I see a review they always point out the bad parts and really talk about them a lot and most of the time they blow small things out of the water. I'm talking about critics, not teachers. They are totally different, the only thing they do have in common is that they both use scoring systems.
" Haven´t really looked up on the game yet, but it seems to have gotten quite a few followers. What makes it special? "It's two biggest selling points are the facts that there are literally millions of different weapons to pick up as loot (although each variation counts as a totally new weapon, so AK-47 is one, AK-47 with a sight is another, AK-47 with a sight and a Masterkey is a third, etc.), and the graphics which, IMO, are some of the freshest around as far as FPSs go. The storyline doesn't look bad, but it does seem a little generic at this point (everyone is searching for ancient alien technology that is highly advanced and sure to bring profit to whoever best exploits it).
Gameplay looks fairly solid and a little arcadey, but there seems to be a question as to the breadth and quality of the MP component as yet. As far as I can tell, it's a class-based shooter with four basic types to choose from (Soldier, Sniper, Melee, Stealth), and you can level up your character offline or online, and jump into a squad to play out missions.
Having said all that, I'm still up in the air, and I'm waiting for a little more info before I commit to this one. I'm sure I'll end up getting it, but there are so many good games coming out in the next 2-3 months that I'm still deciding which games are going to get first crack at my spare time (MW2 and DA:O, I'm looking at you). Hope that helps.
