The last installment of the Modern Warfare trilogy brings World War 3 to the world of Call of Duty. While the U.S., British, and French armed forces try to push back the Russian invasion, the disavowed Task Force 141 begin their hunt for international terrorist Vladimir Makarov.
if possible who would you want in Modern Warfare 4
The story is over, but the potential for shark jumping horse-corpse-flogging making still burns the ever growing infinite wallet of Activision. Two years from now there will be an MW4 on the same Quake 3 based engine, looking no better, playing even worse, still making millions with ease. Watch as my prediction comes true.
They would need to do something substantially different. They would need to have a revolutionary change, on the order of going from CoD3 to CoD4:MW, for me to spend another 60 dollars on it.
No one yet has responded to the actual thread question. I want Modern Warfare 4 to be the story of Price and how he got to be such a bad ass. No other characters are necessary.
As for whether Modern Warfare 4 will happen, I have no doubt. People talking about "oh the story ended" or whatever don't realize that the people who make these decisions are not writers. They are not gamers. They are business men who have dreams of grandeur. They don't see the launch of a game, they see themselves as successfully launching and expanding a "property". They have a franchise which continues to break it's own records year after year, earning $300 million or more dollars the first day it launches, every time. They have a business model, in map packs, and they most definitely intend to release it again.
Only once the sales fall off HARD will they stop producing things labeled Modern Warfare.
I don't know. I don't think I'd want to see Price return because his story has come to a close, unless it was as a bad guy because of how messed up his mental state might end up being at the end of MW3. Perhaps I'd like to see the return of Sgt. Foley and a few other MW2 characters. Hell, make it absolutely unrealistic and bring back Ghost and Roach.
If they make a Modern Warfare 4 (which let's face it, they will) then it should a "prequel" since there aren't really any way to further the story without totally jumping the shark. The only way I can see how they could continue the story would be with Foley, Dunn and Ramirez during an invasion of Russia, which won't happen with how the story went in Modern Warfare 3...
As for a prequel I am open to pretty much all existing characters in that universe.
I would say that MW4 would probably be a prequel. If I could choose about who, then either: Price (slightly before or after Zakhaev's failed assassination), Ghost, Lt. Vasquez (Jackson's CO during MW1) or Sgt. Foley. Heck, maybe Shepard... I mean Shepherd and how he went from a regular soldier to the antagonist in MW2.
Killstreaks which earn killstreaks which require paid monthly subscriptions to activate. Oh and Soap and Walrus Stache finally getting it on in the gay way they always wanted to.
Unless the next Treyarch offering is a complete bomb (which it won't be), expect the same thing to happen.
CoD is setting sales records with every new release, why would they stop using the same formula?
I just want to see the story of that glorious mustache and how he came to possess it.No one yet has responded to the actual thread question. I want Modern Warfare 4 to be the story of Price and how he got to be such a bad ass. No other characters are necessary.

I hope they won't bring Price back, because his story ended just perfectly in Modern Warfare 3. In hopes of Modern Warfare 4 being a prequel, though, I do hope it would focus heavily on Ghost.
Though I'm sure they will want to surpass the whole "World War 3" concept in terms of Epicness, so unless they do a Future Warfare or something, I can't imagine a conflict that would be on such a big scale as Modern Warfare 3. I guess we'll have to wait and see.
