    Dead Space Extraction

Game » consists of 10 releases. Released Sep 28, 2009

A prequel to Dead Space, Extraction tells the story of the original Necromorph outbreak on the USG Ishimura. The game trades the original's third-person action for a hectic on-rails shooter from a first-person perspective.

Dead Space Extraction might be hitting up on XBLA and PSN, Rumor

According to a recent consumer survey, Electronic Arts is considering bringing Dead Space Extraction from the Wii to the Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network platforms. According to the survey, Extraction would be presented in HD and retail for $14.99 while retaining the "guided first-person experience" of the original game.

As well as Extraction, EA is considering another downloadable Dead Space game called Planet Cracker.
    According to the survey,
Planet Cracker would be a "resource strategy game where players will manage a CEC Mining operation." In a similar vein to Fable II: Pub Games, the actions in Planet Cracker would yield bring in-game rewards to Dead Space 2.

Sounds ridiculous, but stranger things have happened. I wouldn't count this rumor out just yet.

So for those who bought it for a Wii, how pissed are you knowing that could have saved $35 to have it in HD?

Never played Extraction, but I'm assuming that the pointer controls of the Wiimote is integral to that game.

If so... what would be the appeal of having the game be played on regular controllers?

An excellent game I thought, so I hope it can find a wider audience if it moves over.

There wasn't much appeal when it came onto the Wii.

It seems like a pretty legit business move on EA's part.  I'm not sure how it'll actually turn out without the Wiimote, but I think it's a good idea for them to bring the game over, seeing as how it sold not-very-well on the Wii.

This could be one of the first inevitable ports to utilize Microsoft's Natal or Sony's Playstation Arc.  The game still costs $25-$30 on the Wii, so dropping the price to $15 would seem a slap in the face to Wii owners, but then again, how many bought the game for that console?  200,000?  Not too many considering the number of Wiis in the wild.

Ehhh how do they even plan to pull that off? Slow the game down 50 percent so that the player can keep up with the analogue stick?

I can't stand playing an on-rails shooter like this on anything other the Wii, so no thanks.

If your a deadspace fan, it would be worth it for the story alone.
Awesome if short LIght Gun experience was cool, not going to be as good gameplay-wise without that.

It is possible for it to work.  $50 was still too much.

Well people doubted it but here it is, DS: Extraction available on PSN.  How long before you think it comes to XBLA with Kinect support?

It probebly wouldn't be playable with Kinect alone but perhaps this could be the first game that uses Kinect IN ADDITION to the gamepad.
