Random Loot is a popular concept for dungeon crawler and MMO style games. In essence, monsters or objects drop something that is considered valuable to the player with random qualities.
Dungeons that are generated randomly.
Games with randomly (or rather, procedurally) generated environments create new levels from predetermined pieces each time the game is played.
RMT's are the concept of spending real money, for items within a game, common to the free to play market
Video game combat in which combat actions are performed in real-time, rather than through a turn-based structure.
Games that make records. Often records like most played game, or critically acclaimed. There have been gaming records since the says of Pong and the Magnavox Oddysey.
A character that appears in many games, often unrelated. For an example, Cid from the Final Fantasy series.
The player never really dies, but is revived or respawned with little to no penalty.
Resurrection is the act of being brought back to life. One must have already been living and have died in order to be able to be resurrected.
Set of actions, that are part of a religion or traditions.
Roguelike is a sub-genre of role-playing games characterized by the exploration of randomly-generated dungeons and permanent death. These characteristics were featured in the classic computer game Rogue, hence the term "Roguelike".
A playable class in many roleplaying games. Rogues are also sometimes known as Thieves. The class in almost all these games center around their stealth capabilities.
Classic form of numbering that gives things a more regal feel.
Game mechanics traditionally found in role-playing games that are incorporated into a non-RPG title.
A rune is normally an ancient letter or symbol, often carved into a stone or gem, infused with mystical power. In many games they confer new abilities on a character, or add effects to an item.
Worship of the devil or devil-like deities such as Diablo. Satanism is often associated with the sybol known as the pentagram and arcane rituals.
Characters that have a Scottish accent.
A Secret area is a place hidden that few will find unless they know where to look.
Plants that have at least some rudimentary thoughts or intelligence. They may be rooted or mobile, beneficial or dangerous.
Some gear comes in sets of matching pieces. While each piece has its own benefits, the set comes with additional bonuses when all are worn together.
The ability to change shape. Humans shifting into animals is the most common type of shape shifting.
No point in gathering coins, gold, gil, money, or whatever if you can't buy anything with it.
Quests that aren't necessary for game completion. They typically offer side-stories or specific rewards.
Skeleton Warriors are comprised of the animated bones of the dead. Often brought to life to do the bidding of an evil master as mindless and indefatigable soldiers and guardsmen.
The skeleton is the framework of the human body.
Player assignable points that unlock or enhance skills allowing for character customization.
A set of skills and abilities displayed in a branching path. Skills in the tree open up after completing required prerequisites.
While completely normal from the neck down, these characters seem to be lacking a bit of skin up top. Creepy.
Slashing weapons are designed to cut and slice rather than causing blunt trauma. Examples include swords, axes, claws, naginatas, or even whips.
A visual representation showing the spells or skills collected by the player. This is in reference part of the user interface, not to book objects within a game.
