E3 2012
Concept »
The 2012 Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) took place at the Los Angeles Convention Center in Los Angeles, California on June 5-7.
Favorite E3 2012 Press Conference?
Easily Ubisoft. Had a perfect mixture of terrible and great. Everyone else has been kind of "zzz" to be honest.
Without a doubt Ubi, watchdogs and shootmania look amazing. Plus rayman legends looks like more good platforming, even though they only showed wii u footage that looked way easier than rayman origins.
I voted for Sony. Mainly because I think it's hilarious that they love the visage of Ellen Page so much.
I went with Sony. Sure Ubisoft had some good stuff (I was most impressed with Watch Dogs) - but the hosts alone made me unable to give them the number 1 spot.
The only thing that disappointed me with Sony was that the Vita was largely neglected. I was hoping E3 would bring some hot new vita title announcments.
Sony barely beat out ubisoft for me but ubisoft was in everyone elses conference and was the best part of Nintendo. That Sony ending was great though, as was the intro. The only real bad part was the book stuff.
For me the order was:
Ubisoft- They amazed at their own conference and during other conferences as well. The AC3 demo during the Sony conference was brilliant, Zombie U during Nintendo and Splinter Cell during Microsoft's.Watch Dogs, Far cry 3 and AC3 looked great as well.
Nintendo- LEGO City undercover did it for me.
EA- Decent showing, no surprises really.
Sony- Barely any vita games, What are you doing Sony? Beyond and Last of Us looked great.
Microsoft-LocoCycle and Splinter Cell were a few of the redeeming games during this underwhelming conference.
Ubi was the best. Nintendo was by far the worst, considering their the only ones with new hardware.
Valve could just hold up a hl3 logo in the lobby or even a toilet and undermine anything thats been shown anywhere so far. Infact, if Gabe could have kept his beard secret until now, that would have 'won' E3.
EA: D
(I don't buy EA games anymore and this did nothing to sway me)
Ubisoft: B+
(Watch Dogs, motherfucker. They also had the best actual presentation. The dislike between the two hosts was oddly compelling)
Konami: Missed it
Microsoft: D+
(Halo was cool and some of the other games looked ok, but it draaaaaaaaagggeeeddd forever and wasn't nearly focused enough on games)
Sony: C-
(A couple of cool trailers. Still not the least bit interested in owning a PS3)
Nintendo: D-
(Actively drove me towards not purchasing a Wii U)

They were all pretty bad, I can't say Ubisoft was good when Aisha was up there being a complete twat.
In that sense it was the worst, but in the sense of what they actually showed, it was hands down the best. Also, even if Aisha is obviously a highly paid endorser, she at least had more conviction than anyone from Microsoft, EA, or Konami. Maybe if she had said girl wood one more time, I'd have to agree with you.

Watch Dogs, Assassin's Creed III, Rayman: Legends, Far Cry 3. Ubisoft, easily.
Ubisoft is really strong with these 4.
Sony. Professional, offered new quality services for their console, new bundles, announced a new game and had major gameplay for their big prestige game this fall. Treated the audience like valued consumers instead of like they were handing out pamphlets for live nude girls.
Microsoft sold to you the way the television does, Sony sold to you the way the manager of the company does.
