Square Enix and Warner Vying For Eidos
Damn you and your anti-Square agenda. I happen to love Final Fantasy games. And I'm probably the only teenage, spiky haired kid with emotional difficulties who thinks this.
I'd care, but Eidos makes crappy games. Square also makes crappy games. Furthermore, I don't...really care?
Square Enix Eidos... Or SquEEnix.
Seriously, what would Square do with Eidos properties? At least both Square and Enix made RPGs nearly exclusively.
And wait... Square isn't already effective in the Western market? Okay, that may be true if you cut out the whole Final Fantasy franchise, but you can hardly do that when it's the franchise the company is known best for. And on top of that, how would buying up a bunch of overused and hardly A rated properties from Eidos? Hitman is great, but never gets the credit it deserves. Tomb Raider has been garbage since after game one up until now (supposedly, with the latest game recieving a bit of praise from most of my own sources).
As Eidos has become a non contender in the publishing arena, they still have 2 of my fav franchises....Tomb Raider & Hitman. So if Square Enix buys them I hope they keep 'em around.
Maybe Square-Enix thinks this company with such a PR/reviewer stigma makes it a spicy buy or something?
"I'm with Cubical.Say what you will, but they have some of the best franchises ever to their name(Thief, Deus Ex, etc.)Edios sucks who would want them?"
If they were actually in the hands of a skilled developer(ie neither of these) then there would be a great reason for celebration.
