Well, I guess when you have Obsidian working with an already shady engine this happens.

Fix: Entering the strip after Debt Collector causes crash and autosave corruption

Thank God. I stopped playing New Vegas because I couldn't go back to the strip. After thirty hours, I can finally kill Benny!

I already finished it at around 100 hours, but  jeez, the bugs! I lost count of how many  times missions broke, or the game straight up crashed the console. The save file corruption bug even got me once...Mayyyyyyybe I'll start a new game when the patch hits the 360. Too bad load times weren't reduced...here's to wishful thinking!

While I have to agree with your statement, I have to say in Fallout's defense that those quests were only "potentially" buggy. I've played thorugh a lot of them and had no problems whatsoever.
Still, I had also wished it would have worked flawlessly from the beginning.

Oblivion always make buggy games. It's a well documented fact. I pre-ordered the game on Steam but decided to wait until the big patch to hit the wild. Turns out that next week I can play Fallout : NV :D

I don't see anything about the Vault 11 glitch. The one where if you go to Vault 11 before meeting House, the entire House questline breaks completely. Apparently some hostile robots in 11 are incorrectly tagged as belonging to House's faction. This somehow opens the Lucky 38 before you get there, with a dead Victor out front. Then there's a live Victor inside, who is hostile, along with everything else. Oh, and you can't talk to Mr. House. So, yeah, the whole The House Always Wins storyline, the one I was going for, was completely frakked. It happened to alot of people, too. Especially the type who like to explore everywhere. The way the game should be played.

The PC version runs a lot better right now, than at launch. It no longer stutters and chugs when more than 2 NPCs are on screen, which makes the game far more enjoyable. Plus, they already fixed quite a few of these issues - NPCs show up as waypoints already in my game.

The only real thing they need to fix is the lighting indoors. Whenever I use my Pipboy for lighting, it makes the room DARKER, which I'm pretty sure it's not supposed to do.

I played the game a lot on PC and had the good fortune of never running into one the more serious bugs. And without those, F:NV is simply a great RPG-experience with much more depth and variety than its predecessor. Of course, Bugs are an outrage for players whose gaming experience is severely affected by them. Nevertheless, Obsidian did produce  a kind of game which is becoming less and less common, if just for the need of a lot of additional expensive content which will possibly never be seen by many buyers. That's why i do hope this patch convinces many more people Obsidian's games are worth buying - and Obsidian keeps creating them.

Sweet, had noticed the problem with the weathered 10mm mods creating some broken amusement along with some autosave corruptions. Now that I had to start over, due to picking the wrong choices on one quest with Gommorah casino (trying to play good with 1 save), I'll have to find that recipe again for the beloved Rock-it launcher that I found on that previous playthrough, for some reason after finding the recipe it was never showing up in the list to craft it even though I had all the parts listed in the notes. Looking forward to launching coffee cups at things to watch it's limbs/head explode in a bloody good mess.

Big list.  I would have liked to know in detail what 90% of those fixes entailed.

+100 hrs on the PC version, and if you know your old Oblivion console commands, its not nearly as bad as it could be (or not to a degree that hampers my love of the experience), at least since the PC patch a few weeks ago.

I don't know whether you did it on purpose as a joke, but I find it funny that you're stating that Obsidian always make buggy games and in the process make a mistake yourself by calling Obsidian 'Oblivion'.

it almost seems like the don't have game testers at obsidian/bethesta, all of these problem could be fixed before, though I do know how complex this game is and how many variables that plays into things, it's still baffeling how buggy their games are sometimes.
myself I love fallout, both 3 and Vegas, and I haven't really encountered any major bugs, save file corruptions or other game breaking clitches, I guess it's just a matter of time then, hopefully the patch will make me keep avoiding them in the future

I updated and played a bit earlier... While, at first, it seemed to run smoother and lag less, I entered a new area and suddenly it started playing like an image slideshow... Frame rate must have dropped to about 0.2 per seconds before finally giving up and just full-on crashing... So I'm somewhat suspicious as to just what this patch has done.. Apparently there're a bunch of quest fixes but I never got broken quests anyway... Only problems I ever had was the slugish frame rate and random crashing. Rare, but annoying.

I hit a spot where the game locked up everytime I hit RB (V.A.T.S) after the last update, I guess I'll start the game over next week and see what happens. Thankfully I wasn't to far into the game, can't wait to dig into this game.

That list looks like the freakin tax code. No excuse for releasing a title as big as New Vegas as broken as it was (and for the most part still is). However I still got it day one and have pumped over 67 hours into without the update so I expect to pump many many more into it when I do get the fix. But, hey, it's Obsidian. What was the last game they developed that wasn't riddled with bugs on day one? They have testers for a reason. Bottom line: The game should have never been released as broke ass as it was.

Why would I want that? These aren't funny bugs like in Red Dead Redemption. These are game breaking bugs. I quit playing the game when one of my companions just dissapeared and never returned.
Maybe you just enjoy the pain. So every time you almost finish a quest just unplug your system before you save! Brilliant! I've solved your problem.

I tried holding out, decided to beat the game a few days ago. the ending sequence of the game locked my ps3 up 4 times, instead of returning to a previous save and continuing forth in the game to finish everything there was to do in the game. I said FUCK THIS GAME and traded it in while it was still worth anything. Now how I'm going to get my fallout3 saves back on my xbox is my only priority. =(

Goddamn I like this game but that is a HUGE-ass list of fixes.  Like  "Oh by the way the quests actually work now"     Thanks guys so glad you could make sure the 2/3rds of the content that was broken works 2 months after release now.
