A note about the QR codes : there are alternate puzzles for every one of them. So even if you can't scan them, you can ignore them and 100% the game with other means. The alternate puzzles *are* much harder, though. :)
Why are they much harder? Why in the fuck are they punishing people for not having a QR reader? How dumb are these people?
Can someone please tell me what to do in the observatory room? I've tried writing down the button combinations I see through the telescope but no matter how I put them in nothing works. I already got the red artifact looking thing from this room.
Ok so I think my game is glitching:
When I press up against the bookself I clip through the wall and land on an invisible platform outside the room. Any movement in any direction makes me fall to my death and rotating just puts me back in the room. Is this supposed to happen and I'm just missing something? Rebooting my xbox doesn't seem to change it.

There are QR readers on the web that will accept jpgs and even a lot of dumb phones can run a QR reader .jar. I can't imagine too many people are left out, even if it is more complicated. That said, there's nothing clever about a puzzle that boils down to a person recognizing that something is a QR code that explicitly spells out what to do. I don't see the point of them in the game.

None that I could find.

None of mine can.

I can imagine a significant amount of people left out, and it's god awful stupid game design no matter how you look at it. I really don't see how this game is getting 8's and 9's.
And can anyone just tell me what the button combination for the telescope puzzle is? I'm so sick of dealing with this thing. Thanks.

Here you go. It's the first google result for "web qr reader" without quotes. I've used this one in the past, so I know it works.
I doubt anyone knows the telescope sequence off the top of their head. You can google for that, too.

I tried. Every time I look for anything Fez related I just get a bunch of random shit.
@Manhattan_Project: Hmm. I typed in that I have the correct treasure map, but all my text disappeared.
I know what the tetris pieces mean, and I know what the number characters are, but I don't know what the characters on the map mean.
Okay, I need one big hint. I only have one anti-cube remaining, and I can't figure out where it is.
On my map, the sunken pyramid and the black monolith are both white-bordered and have a "Secret" icon, and the telescope is white bordered and does NOT have the "Secret" icon. I don't remember if I got an anticube there. I've inputted the constellation code several times in succession, did the whole thing in reverse, every permutation that I could think of. Nothing happens, and since the icon isn't there, I think I may have gotten it already. Every other room is gold, and I have 31 anticubes.
Is there an anticube at the sunken pyramid, or is my game bugged beyond repair?
@FadedOasis: Same thing happened with me.

theres two items here. did you watch the flashing red dots?
Well, you can stop banging your heads against the wall over the tome. Someone figured out the trick to it and translated it.
From out of nowhere. Impossible visitors. Our benefactors
Watching over us. In the hidden folds of space. In front of behind
Give the golden gift. A deep revelation. Our eyes wide open.
Shapes to tesselate. With sacred geometry. An empire to build.
A new perspective. Things unseen(s) but always there. A new direction.
The hexahedron. The sixty four bit name of God. The point of origin.
A pattern a code. A deep understanding. A gate to the stars.
All of time and space. And the space outside of space. Where does it end?.
Apparently the tome itself isn't tied directly to a solution for the monolith, but part of the text (most of which is found elsewhere in the world anyway) probably is.
@MrFlibble: theres a lord of the rings" door that appears only at night, input the button combination based on the pattern that appears on the front of it.
Or everyone having trouble with the telescope, what happened to me was I was rotating in the wrong direction so I was inputting the bottoms backwards. Try doing it the other way.
I had a small idea regarding the Monolith. I'm surely not the first to think of it, but haven't seen it in this thread yet:
@joshrholloway: no. its only 2d things that don't move. its just a side effect of how the first person view works. no relevance. For proof look at the windmill in your home town. that moves still too.

@Vitor: The classroom in that second town has pretty much all of the clues you need to figure out the number system.
Cool, I'll check that out and see if I can piece it together myself. Already know the code but I'll do it for curiosity's sake. Which one is the second town though? Is it the one with the 32 cube door?

You might have already figured it out but if you didn't:
Think more literal.
Does that help at all?
@1p: depends what hand your watching. it seems that one moves by the second , one the minuet , one the hour and one the day. so if its the grey one it is going to look still but actually be moving really slowly.
I got 32gold, 29anti and 2red cubes, but the only rooms that aren't gold on my map are the clocktower(haven't screwed around with my xbox time yet), the black monolith room and the place with the last door. is that right, or did a room turn gold even though there's stuff to do? a room in the woods turned gold for me, even though I didn't speak to the owl at that time. now I'm a bit worried.

@Bravestar: That's exactly the situation I'm in. Pretty sure that's all there is left to do. I'm afraid to mess with my system clock because I've heard it can mess up your achievements and your game completion percentage. But that means I'll be waiting another 5 days before I can get the last Anti-Cube from the Clock...
I messed with my clock because I didn't feel like waiting, potentially missing it, and waiting even longer. I don't think that my completion percentage updated until I'd then completed another puzzle. Maybe it only updates when you're online and do something new. People who are saying it messed up their completion percentage could have only checked immediately after and seen it hadn't updated.
Thanks, I totally got it!@1p: While looking through the telescope, there are other visual cues besides the constellations.

sounds like you've already figured this out but just in case:

@RoboThanks, I totally got it! I have been making good progress today. 62 cubes! I wanna try and figure out the alphabet next, and that one puzzle with the movable letter cubes. Any super mild hints?@1p: While looking through the telescope, there are other visual cues besides the constellations.
You have 62 cubes and haven't figured out the alphabet yet? Oh my! I worked that out before I got to 32 ahahah. With regards to the movable letter cubes, the text above is the only real hint I can give but I'll let you translate it. Also, I looked that puzzle up, and am glad I did (its the only one I have so far) cause the answer is fucked. I haven't even heard of the word (Read:NAME) you need to spell. Plus it's pretty unfair with the rotation (not the usual kind) and final thing you have to do for it to work.
Also if you wanna learn the alphabet, head the the forest place where you get the red artefact. The one you buddy says is for writing. There's a super obvious thing there which will help.
Finally, please can someone as gently as possible guide me with the numbers? They're still evading me and its stopping me solving the bell! I managed to do the crypt door puzzle, and I'm assuming that order from the maps is the numbers 1 to 4, but I could be wrong. Thanks for any help I get!
