Nobodys for you, but they're probably well known in Mexico and USA (among soccer fans anyway) which are the two biggest Fifa markets in America

Jozy Altidore isn't a nobody - in the U.S. anyway.  He's probably going to be the best American footballer in history.  He's apparently impressing Villareal, and is only going to get better if he's playing and training with a top Spanish club.  He's only 18.  Oh, and thanks guys for the hugely false generalization that nobody in the states cares about FIFA.

Not like anybody really in the United States cares about soccer, including me.

The irony in the AIG jerseys, though.

Actually, none of them are MLS players. Altidore plays for Villareal, Ochoa plays for Club America in Mexico (obviously a pitch to Hispanic Americans - who probably make up the most sales in the US for FIFA), and Ronaldinho plays for AC Milan.

Oh, the ignorance Karmum. Just because you don't like it, doesn't mean others aren't allowed to.

I love soccer and I live in the US. I do wish I could have the UK cover with Rooney.

Actually I'd love the Italian one. De Rossi is the fucking MAN.

Print out a HQ one.

Two of those players are a mystery to me.

Karmum , yeah AIG are sponsoring my team Manchester United now, the Fraser Bros who are American bought United.

they aren't nobodies, Guillermo Ochoa is easily one of the best goalkeepers in the world, he's just not very known because he plays in Mexico.

FIFA.  Hmm...I've heard of that somewhere.

OH, RIGHT!!!  That's what the folks down on 18th and Gurley watch all the time...that thing that they CALL football but actually ISN'T football.

Maybe the projects just have something against oval-shaped balls.  =  /

Just because you Americans decided to steal the name Football for that strange sport of yours doesn't give you the right to pretend you created it.
Football (Global) has been around a lot longer than Football (American).

I know, but still you haven't seen him play, and you guys sub-estimate it too much, that you might get surprised if you watched a few matches.

1.- Football, not soccer.
2.- It's not boring, it's pretty different if you don't like it or if you don't understand it.

Yeah well not much people here in North America gives a damn about soccer, still these games should come out since they are fun to play and all, but no one cares for bad box art.

American Football > Soccer.

(this is a test, lets see if anyone bites here...)

#43 Posted by GamespotNoMore (856 posts) -

I LOVE American football AND Association Football (Soccer), and I'm an American. I lived in Mexico during FIFA World Cup 2006 and soccer is religion there. I was glued to the TV June-July 2006, and I have a great respect for it studying Spanish in Latin America, and realizing I would rather play it than hockey (I'm not a pro at ice skating, but I do love watching hockey in person). Football is the world's game, and I know there are a lot of Americans that love it. It just needs to be on Television a lot more, and the MLS needs to entice bigger name players for it to really catch on and catch up to the four major sports here in this country (American football, basketball, baseball, and hockey). And I also have to think that one of these four sports will have to suffer a bit, at least temporarily, for this kind of football to get a major TV deal, and major on-air time . I can't wait until World Cup 2010, South Africa!! USA! GO USA and Mexico (except when they play US), and go Canada if you make the tournament..North America rocks (we're nowhere near Europe or Latin America really in level of play)

American's not only do not like soccer... Its become part of our culture (hating soccer) which is kind of funny my coaches always said soccer shouldn't be a sport lol. I disagree but hey its our culture.

dude...it is SO BORING on tv, and they try to play on tv a lot, but nobody wants to watch it. i like it sometimes, when im bored or hungover, just kick back and get real into, watch the different strategies develope and see some cool skills and ball handling etc.

but for the most part they jog back and forth and eventually score and you hear a guy go GOOOOOAAAAALLLL for ten fuckin minutes, and your like no wonder he's so fuckin happy, he waited like 40 minutes for somebody to fucking score already. i can't believe people can't sit through a whole match, think it was awesome, even though the score is like 2-1.  i compare this to Hockey, for the longest time people loved hockey how it was, but eventually, because of bigger and faster players, they needed to make some changes (mainly more scoring) to bring the ratings and popularity back up. and they did and i gotta tell you man, the game is sooo much more exciting for it. its all about speed and careful strategy, and finesse, and now the goalies are displaying much higher levels of skill and doing crazy stuff.
but lets not compare soccer to american football, its a totally different sport, and sooooooo much more complex, and if you wanna argue this, you will never win, i guarantee it.
and of course, this kind of stuff plays a factor:

well, if you're saying American football players are physically tougher and stronger I tend to agree. There have been players paralyzed on the field, and some have even died playing this game...BUT soccer players do it with ZERO pads and have much longer running halves...try having a 250-lb linebacker doing that or a 330-lb offensive lineman....don't get me wrong, I like American football more, and it is this country's most popular sport now in money and attendance, but you got to RESPECT the Association Football

No pads you say?

Face it, Soccer and NFL are for girls.

As far as running halves. AFL has a four man interchange bench. I dunno about rugby, but im pretty sure they also run out most of the game.
