It's saying I have unread PMs even though I don't!

The first image shows me hovering over the PM icon and it's saying I have no unread PMs.

The second image shows what my unread PMs page looks like.

Yep. Same problem here. It says I have 25 unread messages. I have zero.

Says I have 86 messages. I tried to mark everything as read, but that did nothing.

Says I have 2 unread. Should be zero.

Just want to throw an agree in here as I have 197 unread messages. I think it was around 20 before the switch.

I've got 2 still and I just deleted my entire inbox.

Yeah, this seems to be affecting everyone. We probably won't get a fix until at least tomorrow as the last engineer has already left the office.

Said i had 4 unread messages... I looked in my outbox and there was 4 messages in bold... i clicked one and the count went down to 3

Deleted my entire outbox and now i have 0 unread

Mine says 85 and it's real annoying...

It's not my outbox, my outbox is empty, but I have 11 messages of the same.

Same problem here. It says I have 32 messages , even though they are all already read. Good to hear a fix is incoming!

Checking in to make sure that I'm still not the only person with this problem. Still listed as 25 unread messages for me.

Not my outbox either. In fact, my outbox wasn't even imported from the old site. It's only got things since the launch of the new site.

Yes! This worked for me. I think it has something to do with the first version of the site back when you had to request people to be your "friend" instead of just following them. To fix it I went to my outbox and went to the last page and there were all the unread messages, some guide requests I sent and some friend requests. I hope this helps the rest of you duders!

This didn't work for me. Then again I have about 80,000 private messages and I'm not about to sort through them all looking for the unread ones...the unread button returns zero results.

I feel like this has been an issue that has been going on for awhile because I had a similar problem a few years back, guess its still a problem even after the redesign.

I've seen this same issue come up in multiple threads, but this looks like the oldest, so I'll make my post here.

I've had 25 unread messages since the site relaunch. I didn't see this error in the site preview, and it wasn't an issue in the old site. I've went through and marked all messages (inbox and outbox) as unread and then read, but I'm still showing 25 unread. The unread section of my PM box is empty, despite the number staying at 25. This issue is consistent across other browsers and platforms after clearing cookies and cache.

This is obviously in no way an urgent issue, but as this has been going on for a while, I thought I'd report what I tried to do to resolve it.

Ditto. 15 messages in my case. Tried the suggestions here and nothing worked. Bummer.

Ever since the redesign launched I've had 103 unread PM's. They might be somewhere in my inbox, who knows, it seems that the "Select" drop down menu options only select messages from the page I'm viewing (even when I go "Select > All").

I'm curious as to why it's taking so long to fix such a thing.

Same I have been stuck with 4 unread messages since new site launch.
