Ive been here for not eaven 24 hours and to be honest the majority of you are pretentious stuck up assholes that most likely like the smell of your own farts, i mean why be such assholes to someone who is new to the forums? i apologise to 40% of genuine decent people i have talked to but the majority of you guys are smart ass know it all need to get laid nerds.

Sorry to hear that dude.  However you should never let those 60% get to you anyways.  You know it's just a wall of text, and you don't need to respond to them at all.  Just be sure you are always talking honestly and maturely, and you can just middle-finger anyone who tries to annoy you from the comfort of your desk (or other type of preferable table). I would never do that, but I'm sure someone will.
 
Just be sure that you yourself aren't in the wrong of course.  All of us will be in the wrong in a forum at some point in time.

I do have to admit that I find your complete butchery of the English language to be quite offensive (I've seen some of your other posts). And even if you had a legitimate problem here, rather than you just being a troll, calling people "smart ass know it all need to get laid nerds" isn't going to make you any friends.

Seriously though, these have been the most welcoming forums I've ever visited bar a few specialist PC sites. You can't judge everyone based off bad experience of a few. And insulting the majority of users is unlikely to endear you to the other 40% you claim to be OK.

Yeah... There is lots of douches around (I wouldn't say 60% though, maybe like 40% who are really active).
 I've seen lots of assholes putting macros of "HERE WE GO AGAIN" and "WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS?" over the years, not to mention the implicit racism and sexism that seems to permeate the forums.
But this IS the internet...
Try not to mention anything of remote real significance and you should be fine.
Also, the off-topic forum really isn't unless you're commenting on banal things.

11% of members spout memes at any chance they get.      
17% of members are vehement fanboys (0.1% of which play iPhone games exclusively).
25% of members creepily obsess over the GB staff.
39% of members are a part of the Illuminati.
54% of members have signed up to the site, but have never actually posted on the forums.
60% of members are assholes (I didn't actually work this one out myself, but I heard it from a reliable source).
100% of members have assholes.

I've found Giant Bomb to be by far one of the least assholish video game communities on the internet. It's by no means perfect and it may not be the same as it was at launch but I don't think it's as bad as you're suggesting and with all due respect you have only been here for 24 hours. I will admit though, this has been a pretty bad thread.

the ammount of butt-hurtness in this thread is astounding.

How was this worked out? How do you test to see whether or not someone is an asshole? Isn't it strange that its such a round number?
