Metal Gear Solid was the first M rated game I played. Played it at the age of seven and continued playing M rated games after that.
At what age did you start playing Mature rated games regularly?
Carmageddon and GTA (Original) I think where my first 'mature' games.
Actually scratch that, Leasure Suit Larry was my first 'mature' game. Took me ages to figure out I needed a condom before I ventured on the street.
Actually, uhh... younger than 6-8. I was playing MK when I was about 5? It's been my favorite game series ever since.
I played Mortal Kombat when I was rather young as well, that's at least the first one I remember. Since then, I've just been buying games I enjoy, mature or not.
I had to vote "+13" because I was playing games before there was an ESRB "M" rating or any rating. The Infocom game, "The Leather Goddesses of Phobos" was my first mature game and it was a text adventure released in 1986. I was 16 at the time. Of course, there weren't too many similar games to be had back then.

Somewhere around 8-10, I think. I used to play Goldeneye 007 on the N64 a bunch.
Goldeneye for the N64 was a Teen rated game
My first M game was Resident Evil 4, but a couple years after it came out, so I think I was about 14 years old when it started being a regular thing for me.
Hmm... I can't say I ever recalled looking at the ESRB ratings back when I was underage. I was a Nintendo kid though, so they didn't have any M rated games until the N64 era, right? And about then is when I got my first computer where doom and quake were king. So I'd guess 11-12 ish.
That was rated T.Somewhere around 8-10, I think. I used to play Goldeneye 007 on the N64 a bunch.
I don't remember many mature games when I was a kid. I suppose the first ones were Doom, Wolfenstien, and Mortal Kombat when I was in middle school. My mom really didn't have a reason to keep them from me since my report cards were always A's with a B or two sprinkled in there, I was in GATE(a gifted children program) and had an IQ of 157. Basically I had free reign over everything in my downtime as long as I succeeded at my "job" which was performing at the top of my class in school.
I don't even know the big deal with M rated video games. I got way more fucked up when I saw my first anime, tentacle rape scene in La Blue Girl and I was 20 at the time.
I started playing mature games when I was 16 years old. My first mature game was Halo: Combat Evolved, second game was Mortal Kombat: Deception.
I probably started playing mature-rated games (or rated equally over here with an 18 rating) when I was around 15 (which was in 2000). It was a big deal getting the uncensored version of Half Life here in Germany or that friends got their hands on a copy of the banned GoldenEye. Before that, there weren't that many mature-rated games around anyway. At least not on consoles.

There were no ratings when I was young enough for it to matter.
This.
First "nasty" game that I remember was Nemesis the Warlock
It all started once I got my hands on Metal Gear Solid 2 from my friend during my freshman year of high school. So... I was around 14.
14/15? I wasn't that into games as a kid, since my parents didn't want to buy me them.
Also, I was a Nintendo kid.
It was weird for my 9th birthday at the local skating rink that I opened up MK3. I was shocked at the time that my parents trusted me with it but I doubt they realized what they were buying. I also remember watching the first episode of South Park 14 years ago when I was 10.
Wow, that was 14 years ago...
