Best Videogame Ever?
The best game of all time is obviously The Legend of Zela: A Link to the Past.
My best game of all time is either Silent Hill (1) or Fallout (1).
I would have to say i never had such excitement for a game as i did for Mortal Kombat 2 at the arcades, the sound was Awesome loud and crisp, the graphics where vibrant and the gore was spectacular. Its definitely not the best game ever but it certainly grab my attention like no other game has have since.
" @i69edUrGpa said:Just stop, broJust because it's not the entire product, I not playing a game? Of course I do. I do play BF:BC 2 Rushmode on the Port Valdez map. I did play BF:BC 2 Rushmode on Arica Harbor too. Chess has also only got 1 map and 1 mode. It has lasted for centuries. "" I still don't think you can call a beta, the best game EVER MADE!!!!! "
Ok ok first of all i hate the term Of all time. Games will probebly go on excisting long after im dead so this is imposible to answer.
And well in my opinion the best game i have played so far would be The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time. That games does almost everything right :) and its so enjoyable. I can play it over and over again, im at my 8th playtrough now... and i still cant find all the ghosts xD.
I do find it a little strange that you(the poster of the thread) says that its a game thats not even out yet.
" First to answer your question. My favorite game would be Fallout 3 I could pick it up at any time and play for an hour or two and not feel bored. The best video game ever I will go with the original Legend of Zelda because when I was a kid I felt the same way about Zelda as I do about Fallout 3 now. It really set up so much of the gameplay still in games today. Second as stated a couple of times you can't possibly pick a demo as the greatest game of all time. "
Peggle.
This man is correct.
We should wait till games are stopped being made before we decide the Best Game Ever. I mean, some aren't out yet... Like BF:BC2
Yeah - best game ever is a somewhat floaty title. Best game YET would be more appropriate.
BF:BC 2 is out - just not the full release. Only the beta and the demo. Nontheless - in no game I have ever played before did I experience such intense highs as I do frequently in BF:BC 2.
There seems to be quite a divide between me and most people here, since barely anybody called out a multiplayer game. To me, no singleplayer game can ever be as exciting as a game that pits me against other human players or makes me work with them to achieve a common goal. No singleplayer game ever made my heart pump like a good fight in Street Fighter IV does or a kickass round of BF:BC 2. No singleplayer game was ever as exciting as achieving a firstkill of a raid-dungeon final boss like Kael'thas Sunstrider with my crew in World of Warcraft. For me, it's these multiplayer moments which truely make videogames great. The videogame provides the playground/battlefield - the players make the game. It's all about excitement, adrenaline and endorphin for me. Great singleplayer experiences are closer to reading a good book or watching a good movie. That's great stuff, but it lacks the essence of every great game. Playing games is about playing with and against other people. Otherwise it's just Solitaire.
That's how I disagree with most of your choices. True games build on interaction with other people - but that's an entirely different topic. Still - food for thought.
I would have to say Deus Ex, I played that game non-stop for a very long while. But I wouldn't define it as being the best game ever, I don't think anyone could say what their best game ever would be, considering moods change for games so it all depends on that moment of being asked. ¬_^
This is absolutely ridiculous. If you give Best Game of All Time to a demo of a game that isn't out yet, then there are some problems with your logic. I'll admit that a value-judgment cannot be inherently correct or incorrect, but the logic used to come to that opinion certainly can be.
Also? There's a big difference between your favorite game and the best game. My favorite game could be Geist (don't worry, it isn't), but it's still completely terrible.
Anyways, Tetris is the safe (lame) answer. I'd probably say SMB3 or Ocarina of Time.
"I created a GB account to agree with this post
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. This game practically defined a few years of my childhood, and every minute of the game was absolutely superb (yes, even the Water Temple)! It's a shame that the series has gone so downhill after Wind Waker. "
My favorite game of all-time is Super Metroid. I play that game every couple of years. It's awesome.
Honorable mention (aka, Games I couldn't stop playing and still go back and play every know and then): Legend of Zelda (NES), Mario 3 (NES), Lolo (NES), Link to the Past (SNES), Chrono Trigger (SNES), Rock 'n Roll Racing (SNES), Super Mario World (SNES), Killer Instinct (Arcade), X-Men (Arcade), Point Blank (Arcade), Metal Gear Solid (PS1), KOTOR (Xbox), KOTOR 2 (Xbox), Ico (PS2), Shadow of the Colossus (PS2), Bioshock (360)
"Here's a question: in this picture, why is Princess Nadia casting Fire? I swear she can't do that.
I didn't play Chrono Trigger until years and years after it's release, yet it is still my favorite game of all time. I had a Ps2 already by the time I started Chrono Trigger. It's my favorite RPG and my favorite game, period. Best Videogame ever is a bad question because it's too subjective, so I just assumed it meant favorite. "
Anyway, I agree with Chrono Trigger.
Wierd... I just tagged a dude with a tracer in the head and shot a tracerseeking rocket in his face. Must have been a daydream.
Ah no - apparently I'm not playing a game, I'm only playing a demo. It feels a lot like I'm playing a game, but by popular opinion it's not.
Now I get it. Silly me.

It's StarCraft.
" It's StarCraft.I can see that it was very influential ,but could never get into that game for some reason.I always enjoyed games like Age of Empires more.
