Do you like the hot new look for Giant Bomb dot com?
http://seaserpent.giantbomb.com
And what things in particular are getting you as moist as an otter's pocket, or as craggy as a Tibetan sky funeral?
I am personally loving the new progress bars (uploading images, results for polls), AUTOMATIC DROP SHADOWS ON IMAGES, new hyperlink text colouration and that extra special John Vignocchi exploding bomb GIF that happens when you submit a post/do a thing. The new video and podcast pages now look so very fucking fly, and the new avatar portraits are dope too.

Wait, as a member how do I get to see it? I want to see it :(
Yes, I concur. How do I see it?

@Fattony12000: Just from those images, it seems like there's a lot of wasted space.
I feel like you can't put a margin anywhere without someone calling it "wasted space". Guess you can't please everyone.
I personally much prefer a design where individual elements have some nice fat margins and room to breath over trying to fit as much as possible before the scroll cutoff. If I were designing it I would probably "waste" even more space.
In my opinion the design strikes a nice balance density-wise.
@Make_Me_Mad: Well, I am in full screen mode at 1920x1080 for video recording purposes, so my shots are not exactly taken from the perspective of normal use.
That reminds me...
RESPONSIVE DESIGN! GOTTA GO TEST THAT SHIT OUT NOW!
It's a huge improvement. I really like the Polygon.com design, but it seems like they made too many compromises to be a "mobile-first" designed site, it feels like I'm just using a big mobile site in my desktop browser. The new GB seems like it got the responsiveness right, it looks like it was built specifically for the device you are viewing it on, not just for mobile. I'm also really happy that there aren't so many rounded corners.

I didnt even see it! Still on the old style.
Only for premium for some stupid reason. It looks ok to me.
@ProfessorEss: I dunno, it looks like there's a good fourth of the page on each side just kinda empty. It looks weird, to me, and kinda ugly. To each their own.
WHY IS EVERYTHING SO FUCKING BIG. I HATED THAT ABOUT THE CURRENT GB HOMEPAGE WHEN IT CAME OUT AND I HATE IT EVEN MORE WITH THE NEW ONE.

Oh, I just assumed you weren't talking about the horizontal. It's like that so it will fit on as many screen resolutions as possible.
I'm sure the forums and wiki will still scale to fit the users resolution but when designing top tier pages you want to fix the width at a resolution that the majority of users can optimally view and for most designers the iPad's (1 and 2) 1024 is currently "the bar" most are building for.
You should read the "Welcome to the Next New Giant Bomb Beta: Sea Serpent" article.I keep getting a 500 error. Probably took it down to work on it a bit or something, I dunno.
EDIT: Nevermind, I erased the "login" part of the URL and now I'm in! And first glance says... it looks pretty good but there's too much white.
Dave's got you covered! Now, this website here. You probably browsed around a bit and hopefully you like what you see. Don't panic! You can change back to the dark version of the site up in the header.
Title font for items on the front page is bigger than I'd like it to be. I'd rather have more items on screen at one time than bigger headers. Not expecting that to be changed though, nor the actual font being used which I don't care for much either, so I'm already fiddling with a style sheet to see if I can get it looking the way I want it. Otherwise though, I like a lot of the design. The big thing for me is that it's still very functional, whereas with a lot of newer sites like Polygon, I tend to feel that they're going purely for style over function.
Edit: Fixed the font sizes. Knocked them down to 18px for headers and 19px for the promo-wheel titles, I'm liking the look a lot better.

Yeah, I figured that out. But now I don't see when I have a new message after someone has quoted me. I'm about to look through that link, though, so I'll see if that says anything about it.
Not crazy about it. All the images seem way to big and take up too much space but this seems to be the trend on all video games sites now so I guess whatever. I just watch videos for the most part anyway and I can still do that so, hooray?
Other than the top things on the site being ridiculously large, it's really slick. I like the sticky video thing A LOT.
