Nope. My Uncle plays a few classic PC FPSs but not that regularly.
Do your parents play games?
Of course many of our parents, if not all, have played a video game before. But do your parents play games today? Regularly or even semi-regularly? My mom does, she plays not only games like Mario Kart, but she also has beaten Metroid Prime and Resident Evil 4 on the Wii. My dad on the other hand... asked me about the new "Modern Warcraft" game the other day. I'm curious to see if other parents of people like me, who grew up loving video games and playing them non-stop, have come to enjoy them.
Hell no. My Mum only knows of Golden Axe and Alien Storm and she would never play them if I didn't make her.
My Step-Dad despises video games although he does enjoy Tetris.
I've never seen my Dad play a game.
I wish. My dad only really ever played the first Legend of Zelda on NES, and that was just an excuse to get his friends over and drink. I mean he didn't even play it; his friends took turns progressing toward the end.
But I was 5 and didn't know this fact. I just thought he was into it and that these were the kinds of toys adults played with, so I took an interest in them to try and bond with him. And that was the beginning of my multi-decade foray into videogames.
I try and get my mom to play things (even got her The Beatles: Rock Band), but she flat out refuses to give them any sort of chance. She'd rather sit alone in her room watching American Pickers. WTF, old people?
My mom gets frustrated the minute she fails, so she never gets past the initial learning curve and will just refuse to play. My dad enjoys watching racing games because he likes the cars and the sounds, but I've never gotten him to pick up a controller.
My parent's owned a odyssey before I was born as well as a Pong machine. When I was 7 I received an NES and my Dad used to play Gyromite with my sister occasionally. I haven't seen him touch a game since then. He's 64 now and my Mom is 59 so they didn't exactly experience games in their youth. I had a friend who's Dad used to play games but it was more for bonding with his sons as he never played by himself just for the enjoyment of the game. Other than that I don't know of any parents, epecially mine, that truly game.

" My 60 year old dad? No. But my husband and I as parents ourselves, absolutely. "I think Gen X kids and the latter will see video game playing parent's being quite common.
My mom plays a lot of browser based word puzzle games, but she used to play a LOT of Tetris and Mario Kart 64. I don't think my dad ever played a video game.
My friend's dad loves his Wii and one of his favorite games is Sin & Punishment (on the Virtual Console).
My mom is a space invaders fiend but since the Atari 2600 in my basement is rarely ever used she doesn't play much. My dad can open internet explorer and word and seems to be perfectly content with watching old concert footage on youtube.
my mom plays games on her iphone from time to time but other than that, not really. her and my grandma want to get a kinect though to play games with so that could be fun.
My dad doesn't, and my mum now only plays puzzle games like Tetris and Dr Mario.
I remember she really got into Mario 64. Beat the final Bowser battle before me and my brother :S
Might lend her Prof Layton when I'm home at Christmas :)
Nope. My dad and I used to play DOOM and Pitfall when I was younger but now it's just myself. My mom is vehemently against them.
My mom played a lot of Ms. Pac-Man on the genesis back in the day as well as some Sonic games. She will play some 2d Mario games when she gets the chance and was addicted to Animal Crossing on the Wii for a bit. But now she's kinda busy so she mostly just plays iPhone games.
Nope. My dad got WAY into Jack Nickolaus Golf back on NES when he was recovering from surgery 20 or so years ago - played all day for like two weeks straight. He also got kind of obsessed with Pole Position during a beach vacation when it rained the whole time and we hung out in an arcade for a couple of days. But nothing since then.
My mom plays simple puzzle games pretty regularly, but she gets embarrassed if she doesn't understand how to do something. She has a DS and a Wii, but she gets a little overwhelmed with games that aren't super casual. On her laptop she plays Scrabble and Mahjong obsessively. I'm going to get her some Pop-Cap games for Christmas, I think she might like them.
My dad has never expressed any interest in video games whatsoever. He loves sci-fi, but I don't know if he has any interest in actively participating. He's more of a movie kind of guy.

My dad used to be really good at Space Invaders, Pacman, and Donkey Kong back in the 80s. And he also used to be pretty good at Diddy Kong Racing and Mario Kart. But as of late, he hasn't really been doing much gaming, but I'll say yes because he enjoys games, there's just not many out these days that he likes.
My dad got me into games. He used to play LoZ a link to the past with me every day i came home from school and many other games. By the time golden eye came out on the n64 me and my brother were on a whole different level them him so he stopped playing with us. But he still plays games, i recommend him games all the time for his ipod touch and he plays joint operations on the PC every so often. It is kind of funny because he is not the person you would expect to play games.
" My 60 year old dad? No. "Hm, what's wrong with that? My friend's parents play games and they're around that age.
My own parents, though. no.
To some extent.
Ma got addicted to Ocarina of Time when it came out.
I was forced to sleep in her room for a good while because she'd be in ours all hours playing it, til she finished it.
She was also addicted to Morrowind for a bit.
Now it's pretty much just Facebook games. Sigh.
My mom only really plays frogger and ms.pacman, but my dad is way into strategy. He plays hearts of iron, tiberuim sun, silent hunter. He tries to play shooters, but its hard for him because he gets motion sickness from it.
When I left home after High School, my Mom said, "You should leave that gameboy, you can't play it at bootcamp anyway." She played so much tetris, that she screen popped out of the gameboy. They last time I saw it the battery cover was missing and the screen was held on with scotch tape. Thats been about 10 years ago now.
Otherwise, I got my mother in-law a psp to play lumines. Its the most used Christmas present she has received *ever*
Coincidently, does anyone have any recommendations for PSP puzzle games that are not tetris or lumines?
