Should be moved to off-topic, sorry
EDIT: IT seems ODST has a custom frontpage aswell!
Game specific forum backrounds?
"That is super cool. It looks like companies will be able to advertise their game on the actual game page which I guess is where it's most usefull since anyone on that page is interested in the game. "
With that logic, isn't it the opposite? If people are already interested in that game and most of them plan on buying it already, then what's the use of the ads?
Strangely, I'm not offended by this reskinning thing at all. I mean, first of all, Giant Bomb needs to get revenue from somewhere, since they so kindly supply us all with amazing awesomeness daily for extra free. Plus, it's just plain cool looking. Much classier than the kind of website reskins that involve flash ads that obscure the ENTIRE PAGE for ten seconds (CoughIGNcough).
Snide said on Twitter earlier today that "halo related pages" are being skinned. The franchise page is skinned, all the Halo games are skinned, and some characters are skinned. So it's not just for people looking directly at the Halo 3: ODST, but anyone who happens to show an interest in Halo." With that logic, isn't it the opposite? I like that. It tagets people who already have an interest in Halo but may not necessarily know about Halo 3: ODST specifically, without harassing other people who have never showed any interest in Halo.
