That is super cool. It looks like companies will be able to advertise their game on the actual game page which I guess is where it's most usefull since anyone on that page is interested in the game.

Huh, I wonder what other games are going to take advantage of this.

With that logic, isn't it the opposite?  If people are already interested in that game and most of them plan on buying it already, then what's the use of the ads?

Strangely, I'm not offended by this reskinning thing at all. I mean, first of all, Giant Bomb needs to get revenue from somewhere, since they so kindly supply us all with amazing awesomeness daily for extra free. Plus, it's just plain cool looking. Much classier than the kind of website reskins that involve flash ads that obscure the ENTIRE PAGE for ten seconds (CoughIGNcough).

Snide said on Twitter earlier today that "halo related pages" are being skinned. The franchise page is skinned, all the Halo games are skinned, and some characters are skinned. So it's not just for people looking directly at the Halo 3: ODST, but anyone who happens to show an interest in Halo.

I like that. It tagets people who already have an interest in Halo but may not necessarily know about Halo 3: ODST specifically, without harassing other people who have never showed any interest in Halo.

Possibly an api or w/e the term is for higher ranked users of the site  to set this up for some pages. That would make it flourish, but if it a revenue stream then it is ok.

Ah, I see.  That makes more sense.  They should definitely do this with more games, if they can.
