What game(s) were you most disappointed to see canceled?
Game(s) you're most disappointed about getting canceled?
Cry-on, after playing Lost odyssey I was excited to see the next mistwalker game. I'm still waiting for announcements from them.
Duke Nukem Forever. Who knows if it's ever going to be released, but if it is, I am most definitely going to buy that game.
The original vision for Fallout 3; though I am also happy with the way Bethesda did things. Also, in the same vein, the original vision for Baldur's Gate 3. Though I don't think that game would have been as good as its predecessors, I'd really like to see more about what they had in mind for the story.
Was that at any point more than just a fan-site rumor? It could have never worked, seeing how the Serenity has no weapons at all. You can't have a a game without shootin' and bloody violence these days. The children love it." Firefly MMO "
Star Trek: The Secret of Vulcan Fury could have been awesome.
The developers were even in contact with serveral companies that they wanted to publish the game in the different regions.
Then all of a sudden they sent out emails to everyone about how it was just not gonna happen.
And Serenity might have not had any weapons, but a fuck load of the other ships sure did :D
" StarCraft: Ghost. "I'm sure the game was never officially cancelled and they even left it off a list of cancelled projects when they gave what I think was a GDC talk (it could have been at DICE).
Anyway I would like to have seen how that cancelled Full Throttle sequel would have turned out. It started development after Schaefer left so that didn't help its chances.
So glad that one got cancelled." Dirty Harry. "

" @BioEradication said:I believe the term they've used was "on indefinite hold"...which technically doesn't mean it's been cancelled. Blizzard has also stated many times that they refuse to call it "cancelled". Therefore, maybe one day we'll see it again?" StarCraft: Ghost. Until then, it's considered by many to be vaporware, and there are plenty of journalistic places that have flat-out said "it's cancelled". Given that Blizzard outright cancelled Warcraft Adventures: Lord of the Clans right before it was set to hit shelves, I can easily believe that StarCraft: Ghost won't see the light of day.
I'm usually not upset when games get canceled. Usually ones I have no interest in, however, two come to mind:
The Getaway 3 (being listed as "on hold")
Vectorman (PS2)
Original Getaway had a special place in my heart - although I fucking was annoyed with how much it didn't play like GTA. The older Vectorman games were awesome, and hearing about a 3D third person shooter just sounded awesome, too.
Six Days in Fallujah. It sparked some controversy because it was "too soon" as some would put it but I think it could have been interesting. The developers were trying to evoke emotions with the game but a lot of people took it as yet another TPS that was glorifying war. I really wish Konami stuck with the game instead of "pussying out"(for lack of a better word) and leaving the development team to look for another publisher.

" @thecleric said:I'd rather just be ignorant of it's failure." I wish Deus Ex 2 was canceled, does that count? "But then would we be in here wishing it wasn't canceled had we never played it and realized how terrible it was? "
That reminds me, Earth & Beyond. Thanks EA!
Games that were canceled that should have been released.
The answer for me is still True Fantasy Live Online.
" Your favoured games that were in development, but never released.Good Call. Also, was kind of interested in Eight Days.

LOL, thank you for posting that, I was trying to recall that name the entire time I was reading this thread. Also I was pretty disapointed that BC got cancelled, but knowing Lionhead it probably wouldn't have lived up to the expectations.
" Duke Nukem Forever. Who knows if it's ever going to be released, but if it is, I am most definitely going to buy that game.Yeah, but if it would ever be released, it better be a perfect game that comes with a silver chariot to take us to the promised land after all the hype and delays and after all of 3D Realms' bullshit.
