im sorta between ffxiii and metro 2033 not sure which though...what else is there?
Havent bought a game in 2010 what should i get?
This is just my opinion. So, take it as just that, the opinion of one person it may not line up with your own or anybody elses.
RUN AS FAR AWAY FROM FINAL FANTASY XIII AS YOU POSSIBLY CAN. I fucking hated every moment of it and it's the first game in a long time I geniunely consider to have been a waste of my money. (and I buy a lot of shit games)
Metro 2033 looks awesome but I've not had the chance to play it yet.
You could always drop some cash on old games that are now cheap, Red Faction Guerilla for example I just picked up yesterday cheap. Alan Wake is out next friday, could give that a chance i'm really hyped for it.

I fucking dare you - try out Sonic Unleashed.
On topic, it depends on the console. I'd suggest getting Mass Effect 2 and Darksiders, if you got a PS3, God of War III is an obvious choice. Those are pretty much automatic victories if you buy them.
Fuck Sonic Unleashed. I consider the money I spent on Vampire Rain to be a better spending decision than FFXIII. At least I actually finished Vampire Rain without wanting to commit suicide." @The_A_Drain said:

I am a huge FF fan, but XIII just rubbed me the wrong way continually, every single second of it from the opening cut scene until the 35 hours in I gave up, I absolutely loathed.
EDIT: Of course FFXIII is a better game than Vampire Rain in every respect. But I managed to squeeze more enjoyment out of it than I did FFXIII. :(
Quite a lot of Darksiders love here, unexpected.
Darksiders is awesome. Suprised it's coming to PC though, whoever decided that is insane.
There's heaps of other stuff, depends what you're into. Which i can't figure out from this thread, FF13 and Metro are completely different.
just remembered i did get mass effect 2. oops. it was soo early that its almost a 2009 title.
ffvii is my fav game of all time. so hearing from a fellow ff fan that xiii sucks i believe you. metro 2033 i dont want to pay full price for it .
" People people, it's Pokemon Soul Silver. We all know it. "Ahhh good point actually, I spent over 100 hours on that and then blanked it from my memory for some reason :P
You've just reminded me I need to go back and finish it.
I've beaten both FF13 and Metro2033, and they're both good, but not great. And they couldn't be any more different. I've played better jrpgs than FF13, but none better looking. And Metro is unique. That game is gritty and doesn't hold the gamers hand. But that's it's charm really. If you like survivalesque shooters, I recommend it. But....what I have found so good is Battlefield Bad Co. 2. The sp is mediocre, but the mp is so damn addictive and fun. So if you want a super fun mp game that'll keep you interested for a while try that. Read Dead Redemption and Alan Wake, both due soon, look to be very good games as well. RDR may be an exceptional game...I'm sure hoping.
Get FFXIII, stay away from metro2033. Also while your at it, buy mass effect 2 to round out the rpg experience. One is very linear, the other one you can at least choose which planets you want to fight on. I also enjoyed splinter cell conviction.
Man, with all this preemptive love for Red Dead Redemption, I sure as hell hope it delivers. Even if it has framerate problems, I hope they aren't terrible. Besides, a good slowdown during the more carnage-filled spots is basically the game's way of letting you know that you're fucking stuff up extra hard.
Without a doubt Mass Effect 2. Seriously, it's a superb game, with production values through the roof, and a great story. There is no other answer. ; )
Dude! Metro 2033 is pure excellence! If you have been looking into that game, and it interests you, go buy it! Either Metro 2033 or STALKER Call of Pripyat I would say. That is 2010's best games so far imo.
bad company 2, bayonetta, god of war 3, just cause 2, mass effect 2, splinter cell conviction, bioshock 2...and red dead redemption and alan wake are right around the corner!
So, yeah...fuck ffxiii and metro haha
...and for a more comprehensive list...
If you haven't bought any games this year yet I would recommend starting light from the Indie Humble Bundle. Still available for 2 days

" Keep yah cash for Red Dead Redemption. A fantastic game to begin your 2010 purchases with ;) "Abyssfull is a great catch.
Deadly Premonition... its like $20 bucks and will keep you entertained for 20+ hours depending on how much you do in it.

I know it's not 2010 but... Who cares? It's such a masterpiece.
If you have a PS3 only, get FFXIII. GOW3 is way too short to justify a purchase. Way too short. If you have a 360 or PC, get Mass Effect 2. If you have all of them, get Mass Effect 2. Simple as that.
Oh, you already have ME2... then get FFXIII! It's amazing.
Bayonetta is also a super fun experience.
