With the Deadly Premonition ER coming to a close, it's time that we once again needlessly speculate and post our futile wishes for a new Endurance Run. Even though our picks will probably never happen. We can only dream, right?
I'd love to see a Trauma Team ER. You cannot possibly go wrong with the quirky characters and plot. It'd also be a nice change of pace for the Giant Bomb crew. Each field of medicine is so damn different and it'd be great to watch the Diagnostic (this could have been a stand alone title) and Forensic Science portions. The difficulty is also WAY toned down from previous games in the series, but it also would give me a sadistic joy to watch some of the later First Response (these get frantic QUICK) portions of the game.
And it's a Atlus game!
If Only....: Your personal dream Endurance Run
It's tough to pick a great Endurance Run game...obviously the choice of DP was pretty polarizing in the community, and I think most people would agree that the "two teams" concept was a little ill-advised. I thought DP was a cool choice, but it wasn't very long compared to P4. That game worked because despite the length, it had a great story to back it up, but even then there were some kinda grind-y, filler-y aspects to it that weren't as compelling. I think whatever game it is, it has to have a good amount of length and a lot of personality to it. Also it would help if the team is actually interested in the game, whoever it may be.
As much as I'd adore seeing them cover one of the crazier Cavia games, if they couldn't handle Nier's combat, they'll never be able to handle the slog through Drakengard. It would be so good to see, though.
" Shenmue, Shenmue 2, Tales of Vesperia, NO ONE can stop Mr. Domino. These games have a ton of possibly hilarious moments that would make them perfect for an ER. Tales of Vesperia would be the best choice because it's pretty long and has constant funny moments, also the main character is voiced by P4's Kanji. "I really should finish Tales.
I would have loved to see a Fallout 3 ER months ago. The quests seemed like they would serve the ER well. But since they've all played so much Fallout 3, I would love a Fallout: New Vegas ER.
You know what. For me personally, it'd be great if they played Morrowind. I never finished it. It would be hilarious watching them play it.
Something that would be a decent length and appeal to most people in the community. I'd probably say the next Legend of Zelda when it comes out, but to keep us tide over since then something like Red Dead Redemption.
Also, I know it's very unlikely but what would you guys think about an endurance run for older games like the original Resident Evil or Ocarina of Time?
I mentioned this in another topic, but any 'kind of obscure' game with a lot of style and passion put into it would be great. I've heard good things about late PS2 JRPGs, like Odin Sphere, Atelier Iris, and Sakura Wars, for example!
Actually, I'd say RDR ER. That would be awesome. First of all, there is a lot of time to "waste" doing an ER of that game. I can only imaginge the hilarious outbreaks of laughter when the guys comment on the freakishly glitches happening in that game. I know it's not really ER material, but still. Woul have been awesome.
You are all totally forgetting the purpose of the Endurance Run, they only choose relative new games that they wouldn't play at their homes alone, so the Tales of Vesperia would only be possible if Namco releases the ps3 version in NA. Persona 3 Portable could be a good choice but we don't know yet if it will have a lot of voice acting.
I played through roughly 30 hours of the Japanese version before Atlus USA remotely got around to announcing an American version. Unless they somehow botch the localization, from what I remember, you're pretty much guaranteed to have as much voice acting as vanilla Persona 3 and 4, which is to say quite a bit. Now anime cutscenes, on the other hand, well that's a whole other story altogether." P3P is probably one of the most probable, and I've been wanting to see them go through the regular Persona 3 (FES or no FES) since they started the P4 one.
But what I would love the most would be if they went through Persona 2; Mostly Innocent Sin, but preferably both IS and Eternal Punishment as well. There is a lot of crazy dropped around in those games...
Why would they do P3P, if they could easily do P3 on a large TV in the comfort of a couch? I believe the next ER (if they ever do another one, Jeff seems determined to never do one again), should be another story heavy game. I'm not sure what game they should choose, I just want it to be story heavy.
"Ico or Shadow of the Colossus when they get that ps3 release that has been mentioned. "
This: ICO or SotC in HD.
Or, as some other people suggested, another golden oldie from the past.
That would be great.
For now, i have my share fill of ER.
In another eight or ten months, or so.
