*Foreword* - If this thread looks cheaper in production in years past, it's because I was not provided enough of a budget to buy as much duct tape as last year. Therefore, what you see will have to suffice. Suck it up, pansy-waist.

Do you want to be part of a statistic number this year? Do you like being potentially trampled to death without going to Spain for the Running of the Bulls? Do you like insanely cheap shit that you really don't need but want to buy anyways because fuck it?

THEN YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE!

Every year, I pile together all of the Black Friday gaming deals into one big ass thread, and the goal is for you to look through it and say "WOW THAT'S HELLA CHEAP AND I SHOULD GO TO THAT STORE BECAUSE FUCK ME RUNNING YO."

This thread will constantly be updated until the big day arrives (which is November 29th for anyone who didn't know). Therefore, you should bookmark, favorite, like, share, tweet, MySpace, Friendster, Instagram, BitStrip, Digg, Reddit, and fuck the SHIT out of the thread (if you can find where to stick it, that is).

And here....we....

GO!

  • Super Mario 3D World (Wii U) - $48.99
  • New Super Mario Bros. U (Wii U) - $44.99
  • The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD (Wii U) - $39.99
  • P.S. - The ad is not clear on which Wii U console is included with the bundle, but I'm guessing it's a 32GB Deluxe. I also don't know if that is necessarily a Black Friday thing or just a normal everyday thing they are listing for Black Friday. Nonetheless, this place is pretty weak overall, despite some love for Nintendo finally happening somewhere.

Target (opens at 8:00pm 11/28/2013)

  • Xbox 360 4GB Kinect Holiday Bundle w/ Kinect Adventures, Kinect Sports, 1 Month of XBL - $189.99
  • PS3 250GB Slim Console w/ The Last of Us and Batman: Arkham Origins - $199.99
  • Nintendo 3DS XL - $149.99
  • As far as the games go, it's a fucking messy disaster of an ad to try and figure out what platform everything is for, what games are included in what sales...and so, I crown Target THE PLACE YOU SHOULD NOT GO TO THIS BLACK FRIDAY. They have fucking FAILED...MISERABLY.

Toys 'R' Us (opens at 5:00pm 11/28/2013)

  • Xbox 360 4GB Kinect Holiday Bundle w/ Kinect Adventures, Kinect Sports, Halo 3 - $199.99
  • PS3 250GB Slim Console w/ The Last of Us and Batman: Arkham Origins - $199.99

  • All games are Buy One Get One 40% off, and main featured ones are:
    -- Battlefield 4
    -- Batman Arkham Origins
    -- Diablo 3
-- Call of Duty Black Ops 2
-- Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag
    -- WWE 2K14
    -- Call of Duty Ghosts
    -- NBA Live 14
    -- FIFA 14
    -- Madden 25
    -- Need for Speed Rivals
    -- Super Mario 3D World
    -- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
    -- LEGO Marvel Heroes
  • "SuperBuy" games (marked with an R on their packaging and priced at $19.99) are Buy One Get One for $1.00.
  • **P.S. - This was probably the weakest way to list out Black Friday sales ever. They don't really specify if the games on sale are only for those particular systems displayed in the ad. I'm assuming that when they say "all games" for both of these things, they mean "all platforms" as well. Nonetheless, oh well. Also, you cannot combine the SuperBuy games deal and the 40% deal. Bummer.

B-T-dubs, Gamestop basically unleashed holy hell with these deals. Seriously, it's a WTF moment of epic proportions. Guess they got sick of Best Buy and Target getting all of the business on Black Friday.

Looking forward to revisiting this thread soon. I pretty much just do Amazon over the holidays, but there isn't any harm in window shopping.

Expect every outlet to BRING IT this year because of all the hubub about new consoles

#5 Posted by jakob187 (21670 posts) -

@mrfluke: I have my resources, and they are usually coming up with ads earlier than any other place. = D

With that said, I'm usually late to updating because of work, girlfriend, home life, etc...so as always, THIS IS MADE WITH DUCT TAPE AND LOVE.

MINUS THE LOVE.

I should point out that Amazon, Walmart, and a few other places are running month-long "Early Bird" specials as a countdown to Black Friday. If you are looking for some stuff on the cheaps beforehand, definitely check that stuff out. Amazon had Alien Anthology (Blu-Ray) on sale yesterday for $19.49!

That's weird.

Any, my original post was asking about a separate Canadian retailer sub-section for this thread. Over the last few years, stores have offered up deals to coincide with the Black Friday hysteria

#9 Posted by jakob187 (21670 posts) -

@mildmolasses: I didn't even know that Canada had Thanksgiving, as I was under the impression that it was an expressly American holiday. Nonetheless, I just don't know if the time would be there for me to do it. While this doesn't seem like a lot of work to keep up, I'll give you an idea of how it actually is: I have to do this stuff while I'm at work (as I don't have internet at home), and that Gamestop stuff took an hour to dig everything into some type of categories, then another four hours or so of typing it all out.

I just don't think I have it in me to get Canadian stuff done. By all means, if you want to get down to the nitty gritty and run a Canada-specific thread, I'm sure that it would be alright with the mods and community.

Assassins Creed 3 is $14.99. You should probably include the source in your post.

Oops. It was 11:00pm when I was typing some of this up. I was tired.

Also, if I included the sources, then I might as well not type anything out and this would be a really boring thread overall, right?

#13 Edited by TheManWithNoPlan (5479 posts) -

My wallet will lose all the money...... Anyways, I'll definitely check back through here for the rest of the month.

#14 Edited by chiablo (929 posts) -

So I'm assuming that with the PC version of Battlefield 4 at GameStop, they print out an Origin Key for you. Does each store have a certain quantity available, or are they essentially unlimited?

#15 Posted by jakob187 (21670 posts) -

@chiablo: No clue on that one. The fact that there are even PC games other than Blizzard titles available pretty much shocks me. I thought everything had moved to digital already.

#16 Posted by Aegon (5599 posts) -

Any of these deals making it over the border to Canada?

#17 Edited by MightyDuck (1522 posts) -

Thanks for putting this together. I will hold on on NFS: Rivals Black Friday then. I'm also hoping to see some sort of sale for Arkham Origins, so we'll see.

That's a lot of adjectives.

Anyone know if Steam does Black Friday or Cyber Monday? Honestly, I'd rather save up for Xmas, seeing as how I bought a bunch during the summer and I've yet to play some of it. If there's a good deal I'll nab it though.

#22 Edited by steelerzfan101 (271 posts) -

I really want to get a PS4 or an Xbox One on Black Friday....but I feel that this will be pretty much impossible...

#23 Posted by TheManWithNoPlan (5479 posts) -

I'm really hoping to get some Ps4 launch game deals.

#24 Posted by Fredchuckdave (5459 posts) -

Won't the list price for Beyond: Two Souls be down to 30 bucks by then?

#25 Posted by OwnlyUzinWonHan (1480 posts) -

Toys R Us ad is up @jakob187, big deal being the BOGO40% all games.
Also Disney Infinity for half off is pretty good, may have to pick that up.

I've been thinking about upgrading my PS3. The hard drive space I have on it just isn't cutting it anymore.

...Shame I am probably going to be working that evening/morning/grr....

#28 Posted by TerraDelu (501 posts) -

I can't remember where I saw it, but I swear I saw that gamestop is selling a year ps PS Plus for $29.99. Can anyone confirm?

#29 Posted by Hunter5024 (5669 posts) -

Ever since I bought a 3ds case that turned out to be for an XL, I've wanted to buy an XL (because that makes more sense than buying a new case). Hopefully they'll come down enough to make it worth my while.

#30 Edited by OwnlyUzinWonHan (1480 posts) -

@terradelu: Yeah it's a Friday only item for $30

#31 Posted by TerraDelu (501 posts) -
#32 Posted by Coafi (1488 posts) -

Damn, Battlefield 4 for $29.99.

#33 Edited by George_McBain (30 posts) -

I am really hoping to get a PS3 that day/weekend ... Toys R Us is running the same deal. My hope is to get the console w/ Batman and LoU then pick up Ni No Kuni, Tales of Xilia, and Ico/Shadow of the Colossus. I have to use up 11 work days before 12/31 or lose them, so I plan on hitting the PS3 hard, as well as my Steam and Xbox 360 backlogs.

anyone think there is a chance that GTA V will go on sale this black Friday? I have a friend that thinks so and i keep telling him hes fuckin crazy.

#35 Posted by darkjester74 (1576 posts) -

Anyone know if these prices will be good for digital versions? Would rather not fight the crowds at Gamestop if I can help it...

#36 Posted by Choffy (443 posts) -

So far at Gamestop, going to get Battlefield 4 (and upgrade it to the PS4 version for $10 extra bucks) and an extra year of PS+. Can't beat $80 after tax for that.

#37 Posted by Inkerman (1451 posts) -

Ugh, I bet we won't get anything like those deals in Australia, and I'm planning on building a computer this holidays.

#38 Edited by jakob187 (21670 posts) -

Sorry for the late update, guys. Between work and life, this sometimes doesn't happen the moment the sales come out.

Anyways, I've updated this with the weak listing from Toys 'R' Us. It's about as worthwhile to read as a Stephanie Meyers novel submerged in horse urine. Not to say they don't have good deals, but the way they listed the game sales and the lack of effort they seemed to go through in order to secure solid deals beyond their own storewide shit is just disappointing.

I have it on good authority that the full Target ads will be available sometime this week. Those guys kill it every Black Friday, so I'm curious to see what crazy shit they are going to be doing.

#40 Edited by FakeKisser (338 posts) -

Thanks so much for doing this!

I'm hoping for a really good deal on a 3DS XL this year. I'm buying one for my wife (...and me...) along with the new Zelda and Professor Layton. I probably would have bought the $169.99 version via Amazon a couple weeks ago, but I didn't realize until the day after that they had that "lightning deal."

Also, I want to find a cheap Galaxy phone, but that's not really gaming related. :)

Other than that, I really can't afford to buy a Vita, as well, but a $150 deal could maybe get me to buy one. I kind of regret not buying the AC Liberations combo for $180 last year.

Honestly, I think the best opportunity would be Target, as they usually have some off-the-wall shit compared to other stores. In years past, they were the only ones that had deals on any of the Assassins Creed games until Best Buy finally picked up on it with Revelations. Therefore, I would say THAT is going to be the best bet.

However, this isn't Assassin's Creed we're talking about. This is GTA 5. If that fucker was put on sale for $39.99 anywhere, that place would be a goddamn riot zone beyond what you already see on Black Friday. It would be fucking mayhem til the AM...or in the AM...or whatever.

Point is this: we'll see what Target does because they are usually the leaders for this kind of shit.

ALSO...just curious, but has anyone seen a massive change in Best Buy lately? I hadn't gone to our local store in at least a year, and when I walked in, I'm pretty sure that I found a phone/tablet store. It took me for-fucking-ever to find the CDs and DVDs, even video games. All of those take up about...MAYBE...six aisles in the store at this point, while the majority is other shit.

I mention this because I'm predicting that you won't see much in terms of sales from Best Buy when it comes to video games. I could be wrong about that, but shit looked dismal as fuck in there.

So far, Payday 2 for $20 and Battlefield 4 for $30 sound like steals. Target will have Batman: Arkham Origins for $35 and ACIV for $60(plus free $20 GC) but that could be PM' ed there too?

Rayman Legends on sale? wahoo!

@jakob187: Yeah I realize that but I'm looking for something cheaper, specifically in the all black model.

@shookems: I figured, but just thought I'd point it out again. I honestly wouldn't mind a sale on a 3DS XL myself, but then again, I'm not doing any Black Friday shopping this year as is.

Almost makes me wonder why I'm doing this thread this year, but then I remember all your (what I imagine to be) smiling faces as you trample people over to get awesome shit on the cheaps...and because my grandfather imbued me with the superpower of finding deals and informing others of them.

God I hate spending money.

No, wait... I hate spending more money than necessary! That's the one. I'm in the right place.

I'll never understand people that actually go outside for Black Friday when you can just order online or wait for Cyber Monday. Crazy I tell ya.

I'm hoping (wishful thinking) that I can get some kind of wonky Xbox One deal.
