Shit, that reminds me: I need to get DQ9! Seems fitting, since I'm the JRPG guy who watches a lot of Robot Chicken.

How many consoles sold stand at now? All I recall is that the Wii is somewhere in the 40 million range and Xbox 360 and PS3 within the 30 million.

Do not use that website. They are not real numbers, they are fabricated.

Haha, I was waiting for your usual NPD thread.  This week has one standout title that should be mentioned.  Starcraft 2 at 721K retail units sold.

Wii is holding pretty steady now that the sales aren't quite so rapid.  Handhelds are way down.  360 and PS3 way up.  360 sales should slow somewhat, but PS3 has maintained a good increase since the Slim came out (and 360 will too).

Yeah the PSP actually pushes a lot of Hardware, Sony should congratulate themselves for being the only one to challenge Nintendo's monopoly on the handheld market. That being said it's fun to pick on the PSP.

I always love the NPD reports.  I find them interesting.  Just wish they would go back to reporting the sale numbers of 6-10.  Don't see the point in leaving them off, other than appeasing publishers.

The thing that sticks out at me is- Crackdown shouldn't have sold that much, even if there isn't much else coming out right now.

Seth Green does have a good fashion sense when it comes to panchos, I agree.

@Video_Game_King: Yes, especially the enormous purple kind. They're the only worthwhile ones in our book.

Enormous? Purple? I think I know where you're going with this:

Just shove this in my pants, and I'm good to go, right?

150K people just assumed it'd have the Halo 4 beta.

Honestly, I'm just pleased (and a bit surprised) to see Dragon Quest IX make the top 10.

The Wii's performance is better than it was this month last year, so it's actually been on a steady increase.

MW2 is on the list because of word of mouth, the same technique Nintendo uses to sell their games.

I'm kinda surprised that word-of-mouth hasn't dropped NSMBW's sales quicker.
Most people I know got pretty tired of it pretty quickly.

Why is Alan Wake selling 150k in 11 days considered a massive flop, yet Crackdown 2 selling 200k copies in 30 a big success?

It was up <1% in sales this month, so it's actually 'steady' not increasing.

Because of how long Alan Wake took to make and how much most people didn't enjoy Crackdown 2 compared to Alan Wake.

Crackdown 2 wasn't in development for 6 years?

Neither sold particularly well, but Alan Wake was supposed to be a big deal.  I'm not sure if anybody considers Crackdown 2 a "big success".

Never knew there was a first price drop.

And the title should read "older reduced price Xbox 360s pummel" rather than the Slim.
