I feel like by the time I finally get use to a redesign the Whiskey Engineers manage to deploy a new one. I appreciate it though, it keeps me on my feet.
I had the video thing on the front page about an hour ago but now it's replaced by some news, is it possible to go back to the video format? I really liked the countdown to new content and would like to see it again :s

What it shows as the top promo is based on what you have looked at. If you click that news/review article and then head back to the front page it will have something different. Hopefully a video promo.
But yes, it would be nice if the countdown was there for article promos too.
I now have some horizontal scrolling on the home page that wasn't there earlier when the redesign launched, (even at 1280x960 with 100% zoom). I widened the window until the horizontal scrollbar disappears, then took a screenshot and measured the width of the page contents. It was 1311 pixels wide. This is much wider than the 1024 standard width of the WM sites.
I loaded up firebug and tried to narrow down what the exact issue was, and I couldn't come up with anything.

I prefered the 3 box design, if ain't broke... then I again I'm old and scared of change. I assume this will facilitate some nice new features. I work in design myself and know people are never fucking happy :)
One feature I would love is if you could customize the coming up on Giant Bomb bit to show the time relevant to your timezone. Like, right now it's saying Deathsmiles Quick Look is scheduled at 6AM and as I'm in the UK it will actually go up...between 11AM and 1PM? I'm not sure about time zone differences.
But yeah, excellent design and I've switched to white cause it is super crisp in white.
Really don't like the huge video right in front of the home page, other than that I don't mind it but having a video player right there is both annoying and ugly.
It's fantastic, especially the use of space which is the one thing that bugs me to death with website designs. Puts all other gaming sites I've used to shame.
I like minimalistic design, and the homepage has so many bells and whistles crammed into it now that I feel overwhelmed and confused. Not to mention that it really stutters on my opera and my other, slower pc.
The new formating of fonts and colors is fine, although I already miss the black background.
I know it's pretty annoying when you spend a bunch of time designing something and then some asshole doesn't appreciate it, but unless you guys put out some lo-fi version of the homepage, I'll just have to change my bookmarks and browse the separate sections instead.
Is the "latest tweets/updates" and blogs from ppl you follow gone? I liked those.
Yeah ditto. You can still dig down into them by going to your profile but it does make them that less accessible and will probably make it less likely for followers to see a new blog entry or status update which is a bit of a shame.
Having the community stuff there is cool. At the moment I'm wondering whether that will get a little stale because I don't know if there's currently enough new content coming out to keep that fresh. Then again, now that it's featured on the front page it might encourage more stuff to get created.

Weird - I still think the home page is very minimal. Hardly overwhelming IMO, but each to their own!
@alexisg: @snide: On the "Featured Games" sidebar, where it shows the top wiki contributor, could you change the image from the person's profile pic to their forum icon/avatar? It would make the person more recognizable to most people.
Status updates are not gone, you just have to toggle if you want to see those or the forums on the bottom of the page. I would like to split it myself so I could see both but, oh well.
EDIT: Wait, this is all of the sites activity, not just the people I follow. That is a big minus.
I noticed when a different video was highlighted (Bioshock 3) front page elements ("Coming up on Giant Bomb") disappeared.
It seems much more cluttered to me, but that might be because everything is so freakin' big!
I preferred when "Featured Games" were a viewable horizontally at a single glance. Now I must scroll to see them along the side vertically.
Speaking of which, I have to scroll way too much to see everything now.
I would like if they displayed the dates videos and articles were posted on the front page.
If you're going to have the "Coming Up on Giant Bomb" section, I should be able to adjust it to my timezone. I think it's just Pacific Standard now.

Except you don't see status updates, just a clusterfuck of forum posts.
The forum font size is also bigger and the sidebar while viewing forums...it just looks weird, reduce the spacing between items on the main page and reduce the font size and it'll be much improved
